Newsweek: iCrazy! How 'connection addiction' is rewiring our brains.
The first good, peer-reviewed research is emerging, and the picture is much gloomier than the trumpet blasts of Web utopians have allowed. The current incarnation of the Internetportable, social, accelerated, and all-pervasivemay be making us not just dumber or lonelier but more depressed and anxious, prone to obsessive-compulsive and attention-deficit disorders, even outright psychotic. (13,360 posts)so we are all going to hell collectively...
hmmm...while I DO recognize that the internet take up too much of my brain and time...I also have to go because my life is calling, got laundry to finish and a sunday afternoon to experience in the forest with my kids & dog.... so I hope I have a little more balance in my own life. which is all any of us can really work on anyway. there will always be those who are more plugged in and those who are completely out of it.
I am even contemplating leaving my laptop home during vacation ...but it makes me cringe.... what if there's something i need to look up? lol
