Sen. Gerald Allen, R-Tuscaloosa, has pre-filed a bill to end a requirement that he said is an improper limit on the constitutional right to bear arms, according to a news release. "It's time we give our citizens the right to bear arms without first seeking the government's permission," Allen said. Alabama already allows people to openly carry a holstered pistol without a permit. Allen said there is no logical reason to continue the permit requirement for carrying a concealed pistol. *** more: http://www.al.com/news/birmingham/index.ssf/2017/01/alabama_lawmaker_wants_to_repe.html "No logical reason ..." Oh, I'm sure he's an expert on logic.

1. I have a few ideas. First I think someone should be able to send their 5 year old down to the corner
gun store and get mom and dad a gun. Why don't we get a bus load of violent criminals and take them to the gun store and just hand them any gun they want? I have an even better idea, how about when we release people from prison we give them a gun for starting their new life?

2. The bill will not repeal the Federal requirements for age to buy a gun
or the prohibition on felons having a gun or the NICS buyers check. I don't live in Alabama, but I have family there. The permit is redundant.
