Here's an idea

JUST ASKING FOR A FRIEND. How about a tax revolt? We can't thrown tea into a harbor so what if we just didn't file our taxes this year. If hundreds of thousands of people did this, what could the IRS do? Especially if there's still a hiring freeze on? We could just say that we do not recognize this government as valid.

Discuss.

Like this but at the personal tax level:

If you can, ask for an automatic extension, bog them down.

If they ask for an extension, or refuse to file, they get no money back.

MY FRIEND didn't consider that, I guess. I've been retired for several years so it doesn't affect me, yet. If I was due a refund, which I usually was, I certainly wouldn't want to give that up. Nor would I expect anyone else to.

BUT, we don't know what new edict might be delivered any day now so perhaps it's something to keep in mind.

Thanks for your reply.
