Purchase a DU Star Membership or renew your existing membership, and we'll give you Valentine hearts to share with your DU friends. For every dollar you spend, you'll get one Valentine heart.

Already a DU subscriber? You'll get some hearts to share -- we will send you a DU Mail message shortly with instructions.

I got a kick out of the window that said, "Are you sure you want to donate a Valentine Heart to Skinner?"

After careful consideration, weighing the pros and cons, I eventually clicked on "Yes."

6. Hearts

First I want to thank whoever sent me a Valentine Heart the other day. It picked my spirits up. The friendship I feel here is better then sitting around wondering what is going to happen to our country.

Secondly I would like to purchase Hearts but I live on a fixed income and it is so hard to find any extra money for that kind of stuff. As a substitute I have done this stuff below.

7. Giving hearts is one of my favorite times of year here.

It's fun to imagine the people you pick seeing the mail banner and then the DU mail saying someone secretly gave them a heart.

I hope it's as much fun for them as it is for me!
