Kentucky GOP Endorses Rand's Plan To Run For Senate, President In 2016

Source: ASSOCIATED PRESS

By ADAM BEAM Published MARCH 8, 2015, 8:18 AM EDT

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul took his first step toward running for president with state party leaders on Saturday endorsing his plan for a presidential caucus in 2016.

The move clears the way for Paul to run for president and for re-election to his Senate seat without breaking a state law that bans candidates from appearing on the ballot twice in the same election.

The state GOP's central committee must still sign off on the proposal in August. But, more importantly for Paul, Saturday's vote by the Republican Party of Kentucky's executive committee was an early endorsement of his unusual plan for dual campaigns ahead of a wide open Republican presidential primary.

"I just want to be treated like many other candidates around the country who have not been restricted," Paul told reporters after the vote.

absolutely gives him a distinct advantage in his senate race. This is a crime in progress. Rand cant play by the rules. He is a dishonest person at his core. A fake doctor who never even graduated college. A plagiarist and a layer. I hope the rest of the senate candidates in KY scream bloody murder.
The press should only ask him about this one issue and make him address it over and over so that this is his issue.

He did not go against the US or Kentucky constitution, he still cannot have his name in the general election as running for both senate and presidential candidate. This just makes it possible for him to clear the republican primaries without having his name as presidential candidate.

I don't know who wrote this article but there is nothing the republican committee can do to undermine the Kentucky constitution when it comes to the general elections
