41 injured in Ethiopian Israeli protest against police brutality in Tel AvivThis discussion thread was locked as off-topic by TexasTowelie (a host of the Latest Breaking News forum). Clashes erupted in Tel Aviv's Rabin Square on Sunday as thousands of people gathered to protest police brutality toward Israeli Jews of Ethiopian descent. At least 41 people were injured - at least 23 of them police officers. Police made 15 arrests. Police fired stun grenades and tear gas while some protesters tried to break into the Tel Aviv City Hall, located at the square. Other protesters hurled rocks, planks and plastic and glass bottles at police. From what I can gather, the soldier took exception to being treated like a common thief. Apparently, Ethiopian Jews have many grievances with the way they are treated in Israel.

1. And we are sending our own police officers
those from Baltimore and Ferguson included, to train with them.
Is it any wonder why we get the results we have gotten? |

2. You said it. Took the words right outta my mouth.
This is tragic. It's like looking in the mirror seeing them.

3. It's unflattering
but the truth is the truth.
It should be a very sobering realization for everyone in both countries. |

4. Yes it should. I'm glad that it can no longer be denied.
Now we can start fixing some things. Hopefully.

5. We have this and
then we have pictures from Baltimore of a man having his face smashed in the pavement by a smiling officer.
It needs to be a damn wake-up call. |

7. If a person can look at that
without seeing sickness, that person is just as twisted as the perpetrators of those actions.
Just shameful. |
