Ga. Confederate flag supporters face terrorism charges

Source: WVLT tv, Knoxville

Individuals associated with a group of Confederate flag supporters in Douglas County, Ga., have been indicted on terrorism charges, it was announced on Monday.

The charges are related to a July 25 incident in which members of a group called Respect the Flag drove a convoy of vehicles displaying Confederate flags through a neighborhood in Douglasville, when they were involved in an altercation with residents outside a home where a children's birthday party was taking place.

According to a July 27 Atlanta Journal-Constitution report, those engaged in the confrontation offered conflicting accounts of what happened.

Residents said the demonstrators entered their neighborhood and started shouting racial slurs.

The Confederacy tried to overthrow the Union, and were defeated. These men are waving the flag of insurrection and treason.

I much prefer the idea of having them spend 20 hours a week for the next twenty years picking up the trash off the roads in the town they did this in because they are then being useful as an very visible lesson to others that certain behavior will not be tolerated.

What is it about treating others like shit that makes a person feel joy or empowerment? How fucking low is your damaged self-esteem that you can't manage to bring yourself up, so you have to knock other people down, just so you can feel superior?

To be human, you first have to be humane. Those who have no sense of humanity have no place referring to others as animals.

I believe the power trip that comes with belittling others appeals to the mentally ill, and those who believe they have no power over others. It's a sad display, really. Very troubling. They lack valued qualities that you'd relate to the 'Human' mindset. You're absolutely right, Demwing.

Most time when you look into their background, one will find they were taught to be that way. Sometimes by the most well-meaning of people who, sadly, are just re-creating sad mirrors of their self.

I sadly grew up around these people, and they are absolute 100% bullies. They cannot possibly understand how to live in a civilized society.
