Jeb Bush Goes Off: I Could Be Doing ‘Really Cool Things’ Instead of Being President

Jeb Bush let his agitation show on the campaign trail Saturday when he complained about gridlock and partisanship in South Carolina. Bush attended a presidential town hall held by Senator Tim Scott, and they were even joined on stage by none other than South Carolina congressman and Benghazi Select Committee chairman Trey Gowdy.
At one point, when he was lamenting the state of partisan politics, Bush said, If this election is about how were going to fight to get nothing done, then I dont want any part of it. He said he would not want to become president just so the gridlock continues.
And thats when Bush really got agitated:
Ive got a lot of really cool things I could do other than sit around, being miserable, listening to people demonize me and me feeling compelled to demonize them. That is a joke. Elect Trump if you want that.

(65,336 posts)presidency, especially since Trump's comments are so on target about W, and (2) gives Jeb! himself a public stage for saying so many things that remind sane voters of some of the worst aspects of the supposedly reasonable R establishment politicians.

(3,426 posts)I got lots of cool things to do. I don't need all the junk and stuff thrown at me. I have this really cool butterfly collection that really really needs my attention. I mean I really like to collect stuff, and if I had my way about it, collecting stuff is all I would do. And to tell you the truth the GOP has turned into one great big junk pile and if it don't want me than I don't want it !
And thats the way it is !
The more I look at the kind of stuff going on in the GOP ,the more it gets to looking like one big mess of a junk pile.
You should see my butterfly collection ,it's really really cool !

(9,426 posts)Gowdy must have been thinking "Get things done? We are still investigating Benghazi, holding our wine club, and doing really cool things, plus it is all at taxpayer expense. How cool is that?" Guess Jeb! will have to go back to selling his name to companies willing to pay millions a year just to have him on their board of directors. Poor, poor Jeb! he so wanted the same retirement as his lay about brother W. Somehow I don't think this awful family is done in politics, the next generation is being groomed for the WH. Low I.Q's but name recognition goes far in politics. We can all hpe that W finally "screwed the pooch" for the rest of them. Does Jeb! paint, too I wonder?

Ann Romney to critics: "Stop it. This is hard"
(CBS News) Amid ongoing criticism over the management of her husband's presidential campaign, Ann Romney on Thursday responded to the critics in an interview on Radio Iowa: "Stop it. This is hard. You want to try it? Get in the ring," she said.
"This is hard and, you know, it's an important thing that we're doing right now and it's an important election and it is time for all Americans to realize how significant this election is and how lucky we are to have someone with Mitt's qualifications and experience and know-how to be able to have the opportunity to run this country" Romney said (emphasis added.

(1,701 posts)I read some time ago that the family had expected him, not W, to run for president; he was the one being groomed for the job. I suspect that the only reason that he is running is his own feeling that he should be president for family reasons, not because he truly wants it. He must find it humiliating to be doing so poorly when his incompetent brother won.

(1,539 posts)Jeb thinks he should become President without working for it. It is so much easier to steal elections with the help of conservative justices in SCOTUS. If he can't handle Trump, what else can't he handle?

(3,544 posts)Well, Jebbie. If you want to go do "cool things", I suggest you withdraw and do them. Ba Bye.
Then this quote. If this election is about how were going to fight to get nothing done, then I dont want any part of it. The GOP is all about fighting to accomplish nothing but gridlock. Again, Ba Bye.
Open mouth = 2 more nails in the coffin.
Give it up Jeb. It's over!!!

(47,418 posts)He said the most intelligent and honest thing I've heard from a republican candidate:
If this election is about how were going to fight to get nothing done, then I dont want any part of it. He said he would not want to become president just so the gridlock continues.
That is more insightful than anything I'd expect to hear from a Bush and I think it was directed at the Bozos on the far right.

Trump likes to show off his privet jets with gold plated fixtures and such, yea he brags about being very rich.
Well, I 'll tell you what rich is, My butterfly collection is a very rich mixture of the coolest most butterflies in the world.
And when I show off my butterfly collection ,when the time is right, timing is what it's all about, when I show off my butterfly collective everyone will see that I am one hell of a collector. My collection is smart, it is neat and it is very well organized .
And I have each entry described in fine hand print and my mother says I have the most beautiful printing skills she has ever seen. I must say I have mastered fine print.
I will capture national interest with my butterfly collection and people will forget about all the mud slinging and all the other candidates regardless of party !
Thats how I'll get myself elected !

(10,857 posts)I continue to claim that he is running in order to protect the criminal past of his brother and father, and his own role in all of that. I think this little tantrum is further evidence that he feels compelled to run in order to evade prosecution.
While we're on the subject, I wouldn't be surprised to discover that Jeb!'s financial crisis is a charade designed to make him appear fiscally competent. He's backed by infinite dark money.

(3,261 posts)Whatever issues I have with Bill Clinton's policies as president, he and Hillary have had to put up with the absolute worst partisan politicking of the modern era. They have withstood decades of attempts to completely destroy them not only as politicians, but as people. Jeb couldn't survive a day in either of their shoes. He's whining because he has to deal with Donald Trump - DONALD TRUMP! A man whose vocabulary consists of two words "huge" and "loser." If he can't win the Republican nomination, a party which hasn't had a decent lineup of potential candidates for nearing on two decades now, then how does he expect to survive the presidency? It's time to bow out gracefully. As much of an arrogant, incompetent and sinister figure that W was, he had a pretty thick skin. Jeb clearly doesn't have what it takes.
