BERDEEN, Md. (WJZ) — One of the military blimps from Aberdeen Proving Ground has come loose, NORAD confirmed Wednesday.

The JLENS blimp came off its tether around 11:54 a.m. in Edgewood and is now flying somewhere over Pennsylvania and being monitored by two F-16 fighters.

The blimp is holding at around 16,00 feet, NORAD reports.

The aerostat took with it about 6,700 feet of cable.

and is now dragging nearly 2 miles of cable along the ground in western Pennsylvania, snagging power lines and leaving thousands of homes without power. Damn, I would not want to be in the path of that cable.

What the nutcases on Alex Jones website and radio show are going to be saying????

The entertainment value should be pretty high. Anyone with half a brain listening for fun would probably hurt themselves severely from the laughing.

No drinking games!!!!! Alcohol poisoning is NOT a good way to die. Although taking a drink whenever something even marginally sane is said would leave you stone cold sober, so what's the point?

Safety First, people.

Loose military blimp lands in Pennsylvania

A blimp associated with NORAD's surveillance of the East Coast that became untethered from its mooring in Maryland is now on the ground and authorities have it secured, Pennsylvania State Police told CNN.

The loose JLENS blimp had been in the air over Bloomsburg, Pennsylvania, and caused power outages before it came down, Columbia County Department of Public Safety Director Fred Hunsinger said.
