Condoleezza Rice Hits Back At Donald Trump, Says George W. Bush 'Not Guilty' For 9/11

Source: UK Edition of Huffington Post

Rice said on Thursday: "I think Americans are not guilty for 9/11, I think President Bush is not guilty for 9/11."

She made the comments when The Huffington Post asked for her response to Trump's remarks during a Q&A following a speech she gave at the Chatham House foreign affairs think-tank in London.

"All Mr. Trump has to do is read the 9/11 report," she said. "It is incredibly exhaustive about what caused the problem. It is incredibly exhaustive about the challenges of intelligence when we had a very firm barrier between intelligence coming from the outside and intelligence that we could gather inside."

(down a few paragraphs)

But she defended Bush: "The idea the president of the United States was warned that Al-Qaeda was going to attack the United States and did nothing about it. Really? Do you think any president of the United States, if he had even an inkling there was going to be an attack, they wouldn’t have moved heaven and earth to try to stop it?" she said.

"The fact is there was chatter, in July and August, about terrorist activity. It was just that, chatter," Rice added. "And most of the chatter we thought, and the CIA thought, was about a possible attack in Jordan or in Saudi Arabia or abroad. The U.S. had no systems in place for homeland defense. We hadn’t been attacked on our territory since the war of 1812.

Rice totally ignores "Bin Laden Memo"..but this is what she said today., Thursday, October 29th.

She is trying to defend both brothers in the same interview. So Jeb's comment, "He kept us safe" is supposed to be true. And her friend Georgie did nothing wrong...I think we have had this discussion somewhere before...

Is Trump saying Bush is "guilty" of 9/11? Trump (and I can't believe I'm agreeing with him on something) basically just pointed out the historical fact that the attacks happened during Bush's watch, a fact I can't even believe is being debated.

You can say it was an inside job, or it was a dastardly surprise attack (which the briefing in August debunks as at least not a surprise), or they let it happen, or it was incompetence, or they were too busy wheeling and dealing with the Taliban over oil to see it coming, or whatever.

But it happened when Bush occupied the White House, as did the anthrax mailings, as did a disastrous war, as did the failure to protect people in New Orleans re: Katrina, as did the economic collapse of '08.

Jeb's claim that his brother "kept us safe" is a pile of steaming horseshit, as is anything Condi has to say.

inkling noun
1. a slight suggestion or indication; hint; intimation:
They hadn't given us an inkling of what was going to happen.
2. a vague idea or notion; slight understanding:

It seems "Bin Laden Determined to Strike U.S." would reach the level of being more than an "inkling" of information.

The 9/11 report was limited ab initio to intelligence failures -- and not to failures of the NSA, FBI, CIA, Department of Defense or POTUS to act -- and thus has provided cover for Bush apologists to claim he was totally innocent of any mistakes.

I hope Trump, the MSM and internet keep pushing. The closer we get to the truth, the louder the Bushies scream.

(With apologies to John Gillespie Magee)

Oh, I have slipped the surly bonds of truth,
And cast my lies from crimson-lipsticked lips;
Onward I've lied, and weaved a rambling myth
Of grateful crowds ...and claimed a hundred things
You have not swallowed...weaved, demurred and spun
Fading into sullen silence. Hov'ring there,
I've chased the shouting media along, and flung
My eager crap through endless streams of wind.
Up, up, the false, delirious flaming lies
I've topped the biggest ones with easy grace
When neither Rove, nor even Cheney could.
And while with soiled, uplifted heels I've trod
The pure untrespassed sanctity of truth...
...put out my hand, and poked the eye of God.

On February 26, 1993, a truck bomb was detonated below the North Tower of the World Trade Center in New York City. The 1,336 pounds (606 kg) urea nitrate–hydrogen gas enhanced device[1] was intended to send the North Tower (Tower 1) crashing into the South Tower (Tower 2), bringing both towers down and killing tens of thousands of people.[2][3] It failed to do so but killed six people and injured more than a thousand.[4]

The attack was planned by a group of terrorists including Ramzi Yousef, Mahmud Abouhalima, Mohammad Salameh, Nidal A. Ayyad, Abdul Rahman Yasin and Ahmed Ajaj. They received financing from Khaled Sheikh Mohammed, Yousef's uncle. In March 1994, four men were convicted of carrying out the bombing: Abouhalima, Ajaj, Ayyad and Salameh. The charges included conspiracy, explosive destruction of property, and interstate transportation of explosives. In November 1997, two more were convicted: Ramzi Yousef, the "And so the president of the United States would have done anything to stop it. He didn't know enough. He didn’t have good enough intelligence to stop it."mastermind behind the bombings, and Eyad Ismoil, who drove the truck carrying the bomb.

"And so the president of the United States would have done anything to stop it. He didn't know enough. He didn’t have good enough intelligence to stop it." BS He has to go down in history as one of the most incompetent Presidents the U.S. has ever had.

RICE: I believe the title was, "Bin Laden Determined to Attack Inside the United States."

Now, the...

BEN-VENISTE: Thank you.

(snip)

RICE: You said, did it not warn of attacks. It did not warn of attacks inside the United States. It was historical information based on old reporting. There was no new threat information. And it did not, in fact, warn of any coming attacks inside the United States.

BEN-VENISTE: Now, you knew by August 2001 of al Qaeda involvement in the first World Trade Center bombing, is that correct? You knew that in 1999, late '99, in the millennium threat period, that we had thwarted an al Qaeda attempt to blow up Los Angeles International Airport and thwarted cells operating in Brooklyn, New York, and Boston, Massachusetts.

As of the August 6 briefing, you learned that al Qaeda members have resided or traveled to the United States for years and maintained a support system in the United States.

And you learned that FBI information since the 1998 blind sheikh warning of hijackings to free the blind sheikh indicated a pattern of suspicious activity in the country up until August 6 consistent with preparation for hijackings. Isn't that so?

RICE: Do you have other questions that you want me to answer as a part of the sequence?

Oct 2015

She herself recited, in front of a Senate committee, the title of a Daily Briefing predating the attack called, "Al Quada determined to strike inside US," or words to that effect. That briefing also included warnings of their intention to hijack airplanes.

Bush himself heard a report from an FBI agent regarding Saudi nationals trying to get flying lessons, but not being interested in learning how to land. His response was, "OK, you've covered your ass. Now you can go."

Rumsfeld threatened to fire someone if the same subject if it was ever mentioned to him again.

These sonsabitches were in this up to their eyeballs from the git-go. Their ideological Bible, "The Project for a New American Century," - one tedious read, let me tell you - says that just such an attack would be the perfect excuse to implement the most radical curtailments of civil liberties that the Project called for. It is phrased with legalese and arcane circumlocution, but once you unravel it, there can be no mistaking its intent.

And right at the center of everything from Day One is none other than Evil Incarnate, the Prince of Darkness himself... ladies and gentlemen, give it up for DICK, "THE MOTHERFUCKING SON OF SATAN," CHENEY!

(SFX: microphone dropping)

And before you dismiss the idea out of hand, keep in mind that, shortly after Castro refused to bend to the will of the CIA, just the same sort of people wanted to kill a few thousand innocent Americans so they could blame it on Fidel and get public support for an invasion of Cuba. Eisenhower shot it down. So don't go clutching your pearls and thinking, "Oh, Heavens to Betsy! Our leaders would never do such a thing!"

Because they most certainly would. Power is everything to them, and they think of us as "Acceptable Losses," if they bother to think of us at all.

Of course he was guilty for the 11 sept 2001 - so was she - who was not ready to confront him, when the dismissed the possibility of attack on the united states... Ms Rice have a lot of blood on her hands - from 11 sept 2001, but also later when she made the case for a war with Iraq - and the evidences from that war, evaporated into thin air... She is as guilty as Bush - maybe more, as she at least was one who know it could happened - Bush the lesser was to a degree to stupid to really be a president - but was put on stage, acting as the president.. for 8 years surprising enough...

Bush the Arab kamikaze architect

This is my opinion and right to the freedom of speech in the first amendment.

Condi Rice just dumped historical evidence of tyrannical governments like Japan and their Kamikaze war options.

Seems Condi Rice cannot give cognitive reasoning especially towards Arabs being trained by America are a best fit to commit commercial air craft suicidal destruction. Do a wiki list of aircraft hijackings.

After watching a public television channel about world war two and the Japanese internment camps there was a striking similarity to Bush in the use of social expression to render a peace of mind with art and painting.

Many of the Japanese arrested and placed at internment camps in Colorado and Utah used art and painting to escape the guilt of war or the intentional attack on Pearl Harbor.

With the latest open apology by Tony Blair that the Intelligence was bad is just ignored by the debate, and the media, and Condi that is glaring as a super nova in the scorched earth policies of this Republican assembly.

Condi Rice obviously supports this censorship of George Bush as he fulfilled his duty to the Arab Bin Laden friends and business partners rather than the Constitution.

Bush that profiteered in the American system complicit through a Reign of Terror, torture, and lies to the American people.

Bush being friends and business partners for decades with the very terrorist group America is fighting and no mention in any media or any debate including the DNC.

History of the worst period in the American experiment is collapsing with this fraud in war torture and profiteering.

Condi and Bush should prepare, or like a modern Marie Antoinette.

This strange guilt seems to repeat itself only the swift sound of water falling at Ground Zero should be replaced by the sharp quick whisk rapid sweeping stroke of a guillotine to the whole Bush administration, and complicit media, that is Fox, MSNBC, ABC are the real danger to America.

The refused to testify under oath. That fork tongued snake lied through the entire inquiry. She claimed authorities had never envisioned the possibility of a plane being used as a bomb. But I saw a CNN story in 2000 stating the US State Dept was worried that the G8 Summit on the tiny island of Genoa off the coast of Italy could be targeted by planes being used as bombs and installed anti-aircraft artillery around the island. Rice, Cheney, Bush etc should've been put on trial in public and then punished severely.
