Chief Operating Officer Leaves Jeb Bush Campaign
Source: The Wall Street Journal
The highest-ranking official known to lose her job in Jeb Bushs flagging campaign is Christine Ciccone, the campaigns chief operating officer.
News of Ms. Ciccones departure comes a week after the Bush campaign announced a re-organization that it said would reduce payroll by 40%. Ms. Ciccone served as Mr. Bushs chief operating officer, effectively an office administrator responsible for logistics.
We are grateful to have had Christine on the team, we respect her immensely, Bush spokesman Tim Miller said.
Ms. Ciccone was paid roughly $12,000 a month, the equivalent of a $144,000 annual salary, according to the campaigns most recent Federal Election Commission filling. Reached by phone Friday, Ms. Ciccone said Ive got no comment. Ive just got to go.

(18,837 posts)I'm guessing at some point Jeb will be called to the Kennebunkport compound or to Texas and be told to spend more time with his family.

He's a very funny guy. When he's "live Tweeting" during Republican events he's a laugh and a half.

I'd call him out and take him down. Sounds like a plan.

(18,837 posts)...I thought he'd have more staying power and would be something of a force to be reckoned with.
This has to be a major personal embarrassment to Jeb personally on one hand, and the family on another.
Plus, whatever you want to say about Trump, he's using Bush's own Karl Rove / Lee Atwater attacks against Jeb.
With John Kerry, Rove's whole approach was "let's use the war hero thing against him." Lo and behold, the swiftboaters.
With Jeb, I think we all know there was a 9/11 bullhorn moment in there ready to happen and Trump just blew huge, fatal holes in that one before they could get it out of the gates.
I think that if Jeb even hinted at the sensationalized red meat Trump has been waving, he'd still be a contender. In this election cycle, any Republican contender who is NOT "anti-immigration, anti-"Dreamers," "anti-"amnesty" will never make ity past the teabagger wing of the party. Trump used the term "anchor babies" and Bush expressed his disgust at the term. The relative health of the two campaigns today gives us a pretty good look into what the Republicans expect out of the final candidate.
