Gov. Walker Signs Political Corruption Bills In Private
Source: GREEN BAY Progressive
Intimidated by public opposition, Gov. Scott Walker retreated behind closed doors today to sign two controversial Republican bills that dismantle the Government Accountability Board and increase special interest campaign influence in our state elections.
MADISON Two controversial Republican bills to dismantle the Government Accountability Board and increase special interest campaign influence were quietly signed into law by Gov. Scott Walker today. Rather than signing these bills in public, Gov. Walker attempted to hide his actions by blocking media access and signing these bills behind closed doors.
The new laws eliminate Wisconsins non-partisan campaign and ethics oversight structure and make extensive changes to campaign finance laws to allow for more special interest coordination with political candidates.
With mass layoffs at a five-year high, we should be focused on helping Wisconsin families rather than corrupt politicians and special interests, said Senate Democratic Leader Jennifer Shilling (D-La Crosse). Its disappointing that Gov. Walker and Legislative Republicans continue to undermine our states proud tradition of clean, open and honest government instead of focusing on ways to move Wisconsin forward.

(11,495 posts)When is he up for re-election again, and will the people of Wisconsin vote him and the rest of the republicans out of office? Of course the main question should be how much damage can they do before voters wake up and boot them out?

(24,695 posts)there are no other words to describe this man, his right wing criminal legislature, corrupt courts, and these law abiding corrupt supporters that think that criminal behavior is justified and is A OK .
What a pig---------------------why didn't he sign this measure in full view to show how much a criminal dirt bag he really is..................
He must be looking for position as some Spiro Agnew VP look alike or George Herbert Walker Bush, or Dick Cheney, if given the chance--------------and then he can revisit and sit in his arm chair bilking the tax payers and be just like the treasonous of his hero, that right wing hypocrite Ronald Reagan and what he was before he got elected (doing everything behind close doors) and his IRAN-CONTRA criminal enterprise tied to his election to the peddling with his secret negotiation with Iranians before he was even elected president against Carter..
Again-------------what a slime ball

(4,032 posts)Wisconsin is run by government by cowardice. It has been shown over and over during the past several years how the WI GOP can only do their ugly business in hiding. Scot Walker never told the electorate about his secret slipprey plans enact Act 10 until after he was elected. When the WI GOP gerrymandered the districts in WI, it was not done by an impartial panel, it was done in secret in Madison by an equally cowardly law firm that had the unmitigated gall to refuse to disclose their emails and notes regarding their procedure, even under court order. When big money mining interests wanted to carve up northern WI, the mining company worked with WI legislators behind closed doors and basically re-wrote the mining laws in their own interest. It was very difficult to obtain any information from these cowards. I could go on, and on, and on............
I am disgusted with how these people supposedly represent the electorate of WI. In particular, I feel bad for working class Republicans in Wisconsin who will not benefit any more than a working class Democrat under the thumbs of this regime. There is nothing more pathetic than a poor republican. The only thing that matters to these communists is money, corporate welfare, and ALEC.

I usually call them reTHUGliCONS.
Kashits has been screwing over Ohio since day one. His cutting of funds for counties, libraries, schools, the elderly, handicapped, children has made life even more difficult for those that are already having a hard time surviving.
He's done some of his best work against women and their rights almost from day one of his reign.

If I remember right, and I can't find a pic or vid but I did see it, during one of these signings, made late at night, he even had a little boy(4-6yrs. old?) sit on his knee while he signed the bills.
So many of those guys look soooo creepy and smarmy.
