Illinois considers allowing recall attempts of Chicago mayor

Source: yahoo

CHICAGO (AP) — The furor over recent Chicago police shootings has legislators considering whether voters should be allowed to recall Mayor Rahm Emanuel or future officials who hold his post.

In light of the unrest in the city, Ford said, "It's clearly the right thing to have on the books."

But what about mayors in other Illinois cities? What about state lawmakers? How does Illinois compare to other states when it comes to recalls? Here's a closer look at those questions and the particulars of Ford's measure.

opposed to recall. It won't work, but I wish them the best. I hope like hell it does. I fear it will cement Rahmbo as a permanent fixture in the Mayor's office.

For the future, yes, but wouldn't touch Emanuel.

Besides, Emanuel helped to get Rauner elected and Rauner needs Emanuel...at least for now.

Something is awful fishy here. I suspected him when this all went down, just prior to the election.

I trust him about as far as I can throw his state.

Get rid of the Ruiner. Then get to the bottom of what is going on in Chicago.

Rauner is bankrupting our state.

was crowing about how he was going to "tame the left" and move the party to the right and purge the liberals so the Democratic party could be more mainstream and acceptable to Wall Street?

I do.

Goddamn it, we told you so. Everyone with a moral compass has a right to be red-hot angry at this fucker and the conservative cancer eating away the Democratic Party.

Speaker Madigan controls the legislature with an iron fist and he will not allow a vote on the bill. He will probably not even allow a hearing.

Madigan serves himself, and I'm not seeing much that Rahm can offer to protect himself. Rham is already in bed with Rauner, that may be his best hope right now.
