Police operation underway at Sydney Opera House and Manly, public evacuated, ferries cancelled

A police operation is underway at the Sydney Opera House and at Manly in northern Sydney.
The Manly ferry service is now operating as normal after the cancellation of the 1:20pm service.
The area leading to the Opera House steps has been cordoned off from the public and people have been told to leave the area, but police are yet to say why.
Railings have been set up at the site and a small group of people have gathered.
