Black Lives Matter protesters chain themselves, shut down Bay Bridge

Source: SF Gate

A group of Black Lives Matters demonstrators has blocked westbound lanes of the Bay Bridge, bringing traffic to a standstill by roping their vehicles across the five lanes of the busy span.

It appeared the protesters drove onto the bridge, stopped their cars near the new eastern span tower, stepped out and strung rope through each of their cars and across the lanes, forcing vehicles behind them to stop.

The action occurred just after police shut down the eastbound I-80 Powell Street offramp in Emeryville during Monday’s Martin Luther King Jr. demonstrations that began in Oakland and moved into Emeryville.

For stopping commuters from getting home during rush hour. An excellent way to win californian's support.

What protests would work without a little disruption? I would care less if it took me longer to get home from work when the activists are literally protesting to save their lives.

Really? Blocking a bridge in San Francisco? That is disrupting the people who already agree with BLM, and fucking up their day big time. What a dumb move

kind of response.

I mean, really, Coulter and Tucker couldn't have come up with anything better.

Yes, I get that you were insulting me directly. Kindly stop being insulting and move on.. oh wait, the bridge traffic is jammed! Aw cr*p... we're going nowhere here.

and another group, I think the Transgenedered Collective. They provided snacks and had medics available if anyone needed help. This is what is being reported on the local news channel. The protest in 30 minutes.

I think they did a great job taking precautions but it's a type of protest that's jeopardizes safety so I'm not in favor of it even though their cause is valid. This particular method of protest is not okay.

and block their path to work everyday, until their time wasted equals the hundreds of thousand hours that the citizens of the San Francisco area had to waste due to their stunt – you know, to protest the terrible wars.
