Former NJ hospital pharmacist accused of morphine theft
Updated 12:04 pm, Sunday, January 24, 2016

MAYS LANDING, N.J. (AP) — Prosecutors say a former registered pharmacist is accused of stealing morphine and replacing it with saline at a southern New Jersey hospital where he once worked.

Frederick McLeish was arrested at his home after an Atlantic County grand jury indicted him on charges of drug tampering, theft and drug possession. The 53-year-old Egg Harbor Township faces up to 10 years in prison if convicted.

County prosecutors say McLeish replaced morphine with saline solution in vials that were to be administered to patients at Shore Medical Center in Somers Point between July and September of 2014.

A telephone number for McLeish could not be located Sunday. It was not known if he has retained an attorney.

But, he was probably an addict and we all know addicts can do horrible things.

Still, for what he did to patients, I hope he gets jail time.

I was not getting my pain medication. I requested it again and again, I was told again and again, that it had already been given to me, sometimes I was told within the past hour. It was like this for 4 days. I only received medication on the 11 pm to 7 am shift. Nothing for 16 hours. I was in tears the pain was so intense.

I was finally transferred to another hospital for rehab, they received me with me screaming in pain. They started pain management immediately and the relief was wonderful.

Learned about a year later that 2 nurses were fired from the original hospital for stealing pain meds from patients.

Damn near dead I was and peritonitis had set in. I was screaming in pain and no one came! It was like one of those bad dreams you have where you are screaming and no sound will come out except it was for real!

I realized before I got out of that dump of a hospital that yes, the people working there were indeed stealing the medications from the patients! Instead of receiving one pill, I was given one-half of one pill. Where did the other half go? Answer: Down the throat of the nurse!

These bastards that do this give a bad rap to people that require such medications to stay alive or should I say are willing to stay alive if they can get what they require to live some sort of a life.

As for this person caught stealing, likely one of how many other thousands out there?

Sickening, absolutely!

I wish these War on Drugs people would take another look at WHO is doing what!

& recommend!
