Marco Rubio talks to Iowa about God

Source: Washington Post

BURLINGTON, Iowa – Marco Rubio’s first questioner was blunt: “On your decision-making, will you follow God’s word?”

For the next few minutes, Rubio sounded more like a Sunday school teacher than a presidential candidate holding an early January town hall. He talked about John the Baptist, he referred to Jesus as “God-made man,” and he explained his yearning to share “eternity with my creator.”

Then, he answered the question: “Yes, I try every day in everything I do.”

As the Florida Republican senator embarks on his final push before next Monday’s Iowa caucuses, he is aggressively trying to persuade Christian conservative voters to support him. In TV ads, town halls and online videos, Rubio has been emphasizing his faith more than ever, wagering that showing his spiritual side will pay off in a state where 57 percent of GOP caucus-goers identified as evangelical or born-again Christians four years ago.

First i've heard of it, and prove it. Marco Rubio is NOT New Hampshire as far as I can tell.

I think the sign said "New Hampshire is Marco Rubio country".

1) It's not.

2) If Marco thinks New Hampshire is a a country, he needs to go back to school.

3) It's not.

He will do anything and say anything to advance himself. And advancing himself seems to me his only agenda. He has zero integrity.

I think he's just as horrible and dangerous as Trump and Cruz.In some ways more dangerous, because he puts on a more television-friendly veneer.

with other GOP candidates, except Trump. In those weekend meeting the radical minister has preached about how GODs word says to slay gays. They actual have held 2 meetings with other churches on this.
But so far, the candidates have not talked about gays, they have been silent.
Another interesting issue is that the Republicans have held meetings on the Veterans adm and to turn that over to private organizations getting the Feds out of helping the Vets. They can reduce debt a lot by closing the Vets adm down.
The Republicans push is to close down Federal organization to cut debt. They never talk about those issues, but that is foremost on their minds. Another big push is to move to the states much of what the Federal Government is doing now. They want the states to have control and not Washington
The scary issue is seeing what the Republicans states have done thus far. The Republicans are smart to make that move, because the states would take away lots of the Federal programs. They know that states will do what they cannot accomplish in DC.

Clean Water Act, power to regulate ways to keep lead from leaching from water pipes that are made with lead. And to begin replacing and/or lining the very old leaded pipes.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_Recovery_and_Reinvestment_Act_of_2009

Money that could have started replacing the water pipes in America. And then using the Clean Water Act, the cities could be sending clean water in to homes. Instead, where did the - American Recovery and Reinvestment Money - end up? IN THE BANK ACCOUNTS OF THE 1%-Most all of it!

Third way, Republicans, Tea Extremist, and the Oligarch Party are destroying America while the Sheeple sit in the audience and passively listen. And there are those that go vote after being unmotivated to protect their best interest or even listen to the candidates.

And so the empire Falls. No water or food. Plants cannot live in poisonous water either.

Unless he's following Thor's word. Or maybe Shiva's. Or perhaps the Flying Spaghetti Monster's.

I don't want the country run by ancient superstitions. I want reason and logic, and genuine compassion not some thing he got from some translated ancient text, to move us forward. ALL of us.... religious or not.

He's been Catholic, Mormon, Evangelical, and now he claims to be a Catholic again. Perhaps a good follow-up question might have been, "How can you follow God's word when you yourself have been unable to decide what it is?"

He's an opportunistic putz whose campaign is going nowhere.

At most, 17 percent of this country is seriously religious. And some of them are liberal. At most, half of that are tea party peep-holes. 20 percent are non-religious. So why do they win and we and our causes lose? Cuz they are unified, and we are not.
