'Youngest' conjoined twins separated at Swiss hospital in Bern

Doctors in Switzerland say they have separated eight-day-old conjoined twin girls, believed to be the youngest babies to be successfully parted.

The twins, born in December, were fused at the liver and chest.

Swiss media say doctors had originally planned to separate them when they were several months old but brought the operation forward when they each suffered a life-threatening condition.

The operation reportedly carried a 1% chance of success.

Livers can regenerate. Then plastic surgery for the bone and skin...long life and good health to them! And praise to the medical staff.

Sounds like the doctors originally wanted to wait until children are older but couldn't, because both children developed severe problems due to being conjoined.
