Fake New York Times Article Claims Elizabeth Warren Endorsed Bernie Sanders
Source: New York Times
A webpage that masqueraded as a New York Times article and claimed that Senator Elizabeth Warren of Massachusetts had endorsed Bernie Sanders for president circulated widely on social media on Monday.
The fake news article, which mimicked The Timess typefaces and design and included the bylines of two of the newspapers political reporters, appeared with the headline Warren Endorses Sanders, Breaking With Colleagues.
The story included quotes attributed to Ms. Warren, Senator Barbara Boxer of California and the actress Lena Dunham, and was published at a URL similar to The Timess.
An article circulating on social media tonight that is made to resemble a New York Times story and says Elizabeth Warren endorsed Bernie Sanders is a fake and has no connection to The Times, said Matthew Purdy, a deputy executive editor of The Times.
Ms. Warren has yet to endorse a presidential candidate.

I mean, a lot of HRC supporters' heads exploded when this story hit the web.
Can't the Times sue for misuse of their "look" and so on?
Same with Boxer and Dunham, and the two Times reporters whose names were used in the piece.

(348 posts)talking to the press. She's just has to say "No, she didn't." So this is a shallow tactic.
I wonder what's behind this. It might be more trying to make bernies campaign look like bernie brothers trolls.
Odd that something like this would stay in people's minds but nothing about the human atrocities that have been commented since the left wing president Zelaya was throw out in a coup and Hillary helped make sure he couldn't take back control of Honduras.
I know Americans don't care about Honduras but it's still affecting an entire continent and it's a big reason why so many refugee came to the US boarder. The violence has spread all over South America because of that and the drug gangs got way worse.

Who is Hillary Clinton? She is has billionaires behind her who need her to win and will pay for people to go around doing stuff on Sander's name. Remember, the Clinton campaign has nothing else on Sanders.

Stop pretending that the most likely demographic involved in this is not Bernie supporters.

(348 posts)It is fact that Hillary is paid for by the billionaire class. She is their candidate. I can prove this.
Please provide info that Bernie also is. I do not believe it but will believe it if faced with facts. (and it will hurt but I prefer to live in reality and accept truth.)

(348 posts)Perhaps you should listen to Zelaya. As secretary of state she was responsible and she did help keep him from re-gaining control.
She also single handedly stopped the first Syrian peace deal. Listen to the former head of the united nations on that. But neither of these instances are really her fault. She was doing what her backers wanted. The ogliarch of South America have been connected to why Zelaya was removed. I'm sure Syria had US interest behind making sure it was destablized. The UN kept telling her that if they didn't get the peace agreement it would fall into blood shed and chaos and she fought it anyway. And that's what ended up happening.
I'm a democrat. Trump scares me because of his take on immigrants. I expect mass deportations if he wins. Hillary will get my vote to stop trump. But, I will really not like it because of what she's done.

(348 posts)"Hard choices: Hillary Clinton admits role in Honduran coup aftermath
First, the confession: Clinton admits that she used the power of her office to make sure that Zelaya would not return to office. In the subsequent days [after the coup] I spoke with my counterparts around the hemisphere, including Secretary [Patricia] Espinosa in Mexico, Clinton writes. We strategized on a plan to restore order in Honduras and ensure that free and fair elections could be held quickly and legitimately, which would render the question of Zelaya moot.

Hillary Clinton admitted to it in her biography.

I think that free and fair elections are a good thing. I'm glad that Hillary Clinton and the US government support them. Most of the people in the free world seem to agree with our government on this.

(348 posts)Zelayla was democratic elected. The coup taking him out has destabilized that country every since.
"In 2009, a constitutional crisis culminated in a transfer of power from the president to the head of Congress.[29][30][31]
Countries around the world, the OAS, and the UN formally and unanimously condemned the action as a coup d'état and refused to recognize the de facto government, though a document submitted to the United States Congress declared the coup to be legal according to the opinion of the lawyers consulted by the Library of Congress.[29][32][33] The Honduran Supreme Court ruled the proceedings to be legal. The government that followed the de facto government, established a "truth and reconciliation commission", Comisión de la Verdad y Reconciliación, which after more than a year of research and debate concluded the ousting to be a coup d'état "to the executive power", illegal in its opinion.[34][35][36]"

But, hey if you're into mass bloodshed caused after a coup of a left leaning democratically elected president and you love the new ultra conservative corrupt pro drug cartel junta running the place, then that's your business. It has the highest murder rate in the world now. That is what Hillary admits to helping come into power as she fought the president retaking power when he came back after the coup.
Progressive dog
(6,900 posts)and is not responsible for everything done by the Honduras government. Both the Honduran Congress and whatever passes as a judiciary in Honduras were complicit in Zelaya's removal. As Secretary of State, Hillary acted for the US government in both condemning the removal of Zelaya and with both the UN and the OAS in doing so. Again, neither the US or Hillary were responsible. The bloodshed (if any) is on the heads of Zelaya, his supporters and his opponents.

(29,853 posts)(CNN)Once again, the Bernie Sanders' campaign finds itself having claimed the support of someone who didn't exactly endorse the Vermont senator.
Brenda Romero, a Nevada student leader and DREAMer that Bernie Sanders' campaign touted as someone who endorsed their campaign, tells CNN she never endorsed the Vermont senator and is backing Hillary Clinton.
Romero said Monday she had agreed to be part of Sanders' Nevada Latino Steering Committee, but that she never endorsed the senator.
Sanders released the list of activists and elected officials on his Latino committee in January.

(5,751 posts)Why would a Bernie supporter do this when they would have to know if would be discovered almost immediately and this kind of backlash would ensue. Now the HRC campaign? Much more likely it came from there.
