Extra ballots printed for Dane County polls; turnout forecast to hit 80% of registered

Source: Wisconsin State Journal

In Madison, voters in an historic election were showing up in unprecedented numbers, so much so that by mid-afternoon new supplies of ballots were being printed for the city and a stash of extra ballots had been established for county municipalities.

At 5 p.m., election turnout predictions continued to top 80 percent of registered voters in Dane County, and equally high numbers throughout the state.

In some Madison wards, the difference between " registered" voters and "eligible" voters created the anomaly of triple digit turnouts.

"We're swamped," was the comment from the City Clerk's office, where extra ballots were ordered printed at mid-afternoon.

The DNC gave little to no money to the race. The President was MIA.

There is also the issue of Waukesha county where they give extra votes to the GOP.

My hopes are not high and if we loose tomorrow we will hear 24/7 news on how the President's polices are being rejected.

Unfortunately the prez and much of the DNC knew this was a losing proposition. That was the harsh reality of politics. If he shows up and knocks a few extra-points what then? He gets the" in your face" and possibility of additional lost prestige. The prez is already feeling the pressure of increased gas-and extremely weak unemployment#s. Having him invest his political capital is far too great a risk.

This is not a joke anymore. These guys are buying up our Democracy
Don't be suprised if the Koch suckers start buying up oil futures in an effort to drive up oil just before the election. Naturally it will not be in collusion with the Mittsters(winK). This is the realities we are dealing with. It is going to take a legislative ban on this uncontrollable unregistered money used to buy democracy.
