Rapper and Tribe Called Quest member Phife Dawg has died at the age of 45, according to reports within the hip-hop community. Although no statement from the band has yet been released on his death, the rapper had been struggling with ill health and diabetes for several years, and received a kidney transplant from his wife in 2008.

The news was broken by producer and broadcaster DJ Chuck Chillout on Twitter in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
