Bernie Sanders Wins Wisconsin Democratic Primary, Adding to Momentum
By ALAN RAPPEPORTAPRIL 5, 2016
Senator Bernie Sanders won Wisconsins Democratic primary on Tuesday, according to The Associated Press, eating into Hillary Clintons delegate lead and extending his recent stretch of victories.
Mr. Sanders still faces an uphill fight for the Democratic nomination, but his message of economic populism continues to resonate with progressive voters.
While Mrs. Clinton was trailing in recent Wisconsin polls, she was working hard for a victory in the state. She now faces an important contest in New York later this month and will be under increased pressure to get her campaign back on track.
There were 96 delegates at stake for Democrats in Wisconsin.

(8,303 posts)They are showing the current difference at -227 for Sanders.
I am just ignoring the superdelegates. I assume that if the popular vote switches, they will switch too.

(11,853 posts)He will get about 15 extra delegates for his money. That comes to about $100 grand each.
Still, a victory is a victory. It's just that the irony of a campaign finance reform crusader throwing craploads of hundred dollar bills at his opponent for a fairly narrow victory is too delicious to ignore!
FailureToCommunicate
(14,434 posts)And, there is no irony in a 'campaign finance reform crusader' spending the peoples hard earned dollars to defeat the corporate funded candidate who would do nothing to reform the current rigged system.
But thanks for the reminder. Donate to Bernie's attempts at reform thru DU here:

(11,853 posts)Try hard to convince yourself there is no irony in Bernie outspending Hillary by 1.4 mil to get 15 extra delegates.
I'll be back tomorrow with more lame nastiness. After all, the facts will remain the same tomorrow as they are today.

(14,434 posts)I'm not really feeling it.
You've been here just long enough to catch the bug that lots of Clinton supporters seem to have come down with. Hope you'll recover and open your eyes soon.

Funny that, dishonesty wolfpacks working together.

(880 posts)I say, OUR MONEY!! Small donations from everyday people who support the message of Bernie Sanders and respond with their dollars, their volunteer hours, and their votes!
Instead of $2700 private events, $27 free will donations!! Which is more Democratic?
Nitpick if you want to, but Wisconsin is FEELING THE BERN! And if the national DEM party were as savvy as it needs to be, they would study the Sanders campaign and figure out how it can earn votes and financial support the way Sanders has done in one election season!
Props and congratulations to all Democrats, especially Sanders supporters on their win tonight!!

(11,853 posts)That still comes to about $100 grand of YOUR money each.

(880 posts)new voter registrants for Dems in upcoming elections, stronger turnout among younger and independent voters, inspiration for my 15 year old daughter who got to hear him speak, and putting issues of economic fairness back on the table. For my $40 in contributions, I will take it! Enjoy your skepticism, and I will enjoy our hard earned primary win!

(11,853 posts)Bernie outspent Hillary almost 3 to 1 for a net total of about 15 delegates with $2,400,000 dollars representing the voices of the little people. None of whom have a sense of irony.
