Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said on Tuesday her campaign has been in contact with the campaign of rival Bernie Sanders about unifying the Democratic Party.

.................................

In an interview on CNN, Clinton said the contacts are likely to intensify after next week’s California primary.

“I will certainly do everything I can to unify the Democratic Party. Our campaigns have been reaching out to one another. We will continue to do that,” she said.

She said both she and Sanders “are going to do everything we can” to prevent Republican candidate Donald Trump from winning the Nov. 8 presidential election.

You didn't want to listen and are counting down, in every damn post, until the day where you can go back in the bubble. Maybe, in the next 15 days, instead of saying 15 days over and over again, take the time to listen and think about things said from people on the left that are outside your bubble. HRC should be VERY thankful that the GOP nominated an incompetent, hateful, racist gasbag, blowhard like trump in this cycle because, even at that, she is barely polling even with him. Had the GOP nominated ANYBODY else with even a lick of sense, she would be doomed.

But, sure, go ahead and blame the Sanders supporters when she loses.

If she loses, it's because we nominated a non-starter candidate, that everybody hates, and that can barely hold her own against the likes of Trump. That is the ONLY reason.

Poll after poll gives it to Bernie, over Trump. Most are double digits. Clinton has a 55% unfavorability ratio. With numbers that high, she shouldn't even be in this race, and also indicates a low voter turnout. NO ONE wants to vote for her. Due to the extreme differences in the two, she'll be lucky to get 10% of the Bernie supporters. Everyone knows when voter turnout is low, the Republicant's win, which is going to give it to Trump. She CANNOT do it alone. Don't bullshit yourself here.

It's pretty easy for me to predict the outcome if Hillary goes forward.

That means I don't have to actually push a button next to the name of a D candidate that I don't really like that much. For as long as I can remember now, the D candidate has been far better than the R, even when the D isn't all that great. So this is not a difficult calculation at all.)

Most Bernie supporters I know IRL, actually will vote for Clinton despite their disappointment with the outcome of the primary. They know that she isn't as terrible as some of the extremists try to make out. They know that while not as much progress will be achieved as Bernie would strive for, and some things will not progress at all and some things may even regress; there is not one area where Clinton would not be vastly better than Huckster "Little Boots" Trump. And there are critical areas, such as women's rights, where her policies will be an absolute bulwark against horrible regression by the republican party. I would say that, assuming she is the nominee, any one who votes for Trump or fails to vote Democrat, is demonstrating either ignorance or willfully spitting on the basic concept of women's rights.

For example, adopting more of Bernie's positions (she's been known to do this already), like promises to strive to break up too-big-to-fail banks, and to appoint Supreme Court justices intent on overturning Citizens United. It would help too to take a prominent Bernie supporter (e.g., Senator Merkley of Oregon) as her VP choice. She should apologize to the American people for all the lies she told, and promise to be more honest in the future. In her platform must be some kind of statement that she has sworn off unnecessary belligerence.

If she adopts a Bernie position (e.g., free tuition for all paid for by a tax on stock trades), and then elaborates on that plan in talking about it in her convention speech (providing notable further details), well, that would help too in keeping her promises.

What has she said so far to inspire confidence? What progressive plans has she laid out for the betterment of Americans.

Given Hillary's "walk," her talk is cold comfort. Just the way her old school triangulator hub hovers gives me the creeps.

Some day the Hillary people, as they feel betrayed by the same punches they've gotten from Obama, will be grateful Berners fought so hard for the benefit of all.

As a Democrat my whole life, I've never seen the level of infighting I've seen here. Promoting one's own party candidate should never mean tearing down the other candidate OR his/her supporters.

Berners have earned the right to say that it's really, really on Hillary to really, really try to unite this party.

You want to talk "pathetic"? Let her effort go beyond words to progressive plans, and not be pathetic sound bites of cheap conciliation.

Be worthy of your candidate's intent. Give Berners one progressive reason beyond her being a woman.

You'll have to do better than attack Berners here for being "pathetic" and "whiners."

Berners will not simply flip a switch for Hillary.

You think? Well I know for a fact that a huuuuge percentage of millennials will not support HRC. The difference is night and day to them. For me too. I've been a staunch dem for all my life. Will I vote for her? The verdict is still out. She still needs to convince me, and millions of others that she is the best for the job. I don't see that so far.
