Trump to hold rally in San Jose

SAN JOSE -- Presumptive Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump is returning to the Bay Area for a rally Thursday night.

The businessman plans to stage a rally at 7 p.m. Thursday at the San Jose Convention Center, according to the Trump campaign. He will also rouse his Northern California supporters Wednesday night at the Sacramento International Jet Center.

The additional rallies were scheduled less than a week after Trump staged events in San Diego and Fresno in preparation for the June 7 primary.

The candidate made his last Bay Area appearance April 29 at the California Republican Party convention in Burlingame. To dodge hundreds of protesters, Trump and his entourage parked on a service road next to Highway 101, walked between concrete barriers and hopped over a grassy median to reach the Hyatt Regency hotel's back entrance.
