Trump donated to attorneys general who dropped Trump U. inquiries: report
Source: The Hill With Direct Link to AP Report
Attorneys general in Florida and Texas who declined to pursue lawsuits against the now-defunct Trump University received political contributions from Donald Trump, according to an Associated Press report.
Trump donated $35,000 to the successful gubernatorial campaign of then-Texas Attorney General Greg Abbott after a probe into the universitys "possibly deceptive trade practices" was dropped by his office.
And a political fundraising committee supporting Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi received a $25,000 donation from the Donald J. Trump foundation just days after her office had announced that it was looking into joining a multi-state lawsuit against Trump University. Her office later dropped the inquiry, citing a lack of evidence.

Amazing that a sitting district attorney would except $25,000 from Trump WHILE deciding wether or not to prosecute him...

No wonder Trump will never let anyone see his IRS 'charity donation tax deduction' forms. He probably takes off his sons $250, 000 Africa big game kill vacations as animal conservation donations.

(168 posts)If you accept money from any person (s) or organization, we assume there is some form of quid pro quo arrangement until you can prove otherwise. If there is a problem or a potential problem, don't accept the money. If you accept the money, you are accountable for not only what you do know but for what you don't know and should know.

(3,254 posts)I'm quite sure that a lot more crosses palms than the campaign donation. The rule of thumb I use is that the bribe also includes other inducements such as cash, being cut in on a lucrative business deal, special "loans", and a million other sleazy ways of hiding money. It would be interesting to see this jerks financials including brokerage accounts. To me at least the $25,000 doesn't seem near large enough for this class of bible thumping hucksters. Economist estimate that 8% of the worlds cash is missing, so the rich always have access to unaccountable money.
