Jordan says intelligence officers killed in refugee camp attack

Five people have been killed in an attack on Jordanian intelligence officers at a refugee camp near the capital, Amman, the Jordanian government has said.

The government described the incident as a “terror attack” and said it targeted a General Intelligence Department office in Baqa’a, a camp for Palestinian refugees. Officials said at least three of the dead were intelligence officers.

Mohammad Momani, a government spokesman, told the Jordan Times that the office was attacked at about 7am local time (4.00am GMT) by unknown assailants.
