New York Times Reporter Recieves Death Threats From Angry Bernie Sanders Supporters
Source: Mediaite
A New York Times journalist reported on Twitter that she had received three separate death threats after penning a piece calling the Democratic primary for Hillary Clinton.
Hillary Clinton Has Clinched Democratic Nomination, Survey Reports, Times reporters Amy Chozick and Patrick Healy wrote Monday. The piece was not based off of the Times delegate count, but reported on an announcement from the Associated Press that they were calling the race for Clinton.
Supporters of Clintons opponent Bernie Sanders were less than happy with the piece, and at least three of them called Chozick on her personal phone to threaten her.

(4,802 posts)This response is shameful. Yet, what AP did is also shameful.. This has so angered Bernie bros, the healing process has been compromised
Should the Cali vote have been reduced by this action , this election is compromised.
As to why Comcast let this happen. Billary's close ties to the telecommunications industry after Bill signed into law the 96 Telecommunications Bill . Which gave the likes of Rupert Murdock free reign to take over the media. That from the Wall Street Journal to National Geographic.
Bill did it to us all and the Democratic Party. ( Letting Rupert take control over our media.) And Hillary surely must not have been surprised by what Comcast did with the AP call.
Should Billary want to attract Bernie Bros, she should do what will lose her support from the Telecommunication giants.
Anger them by making media consolidation a big issue and call for the break up of the six or so companies that rule the airwaves..That and make a bigger issue of Net Neutrality and call for the reenactment of the Fairness Doctrine.
Good luck in bringing on the Bernie bros.. They have their issues and Hillary will feel uncomfortable answering them in Philly. IF she does, there is hope. Then, of course Platform's mean nothing come Jan 20.

(4,802 posts)These death threats were not an official Bernie action..crazed members who think they are a part of them team. They are not wanted. It was the action of a few You can't see how the media manipulates the news to their benefit you are naive. That is how we got Trump . News is not necessarily news , Noam Chomsky called our news media out as to the motivation and manipulation of the news in his documentary , Manufacturing Consent. I suggest you check it out on Netflix..
The Hillary people were informed , this will not help. There is only one way to unite the party. It is up to her.

(4,802 posts)It is his supporters that Hillary Clinton need convince. As to the comment, Billary. OK - Not a good phrase on DU.. But get used to it and prepare that will be the message that Hillary need prepare for.
Look to today's vote returns from NJ.. Hillary Clinton is not doing that well to Bernie in Blue collar areas. As was the case in Wisconsin with current polls in Mich saying the Trump Clinton race is close.
Trump is accepting his NM victory right now.. He sounds pretty presidential and he is courting Bernie Bros on Bernie's issues. And claims Bernie was shafted by the Dem establishment.. Get ready for the Onslaught. Perhaps, the GOP will force Trump to stay on script. Believe it or not, this is constructive.
Should the polls continue to show Hillary Clinton weak , perhaps the Super Delegates can have a change of mind. Trump just says he'll have a special speech on the Clinton's next week.. Stay tuned.
As of this minute. So far, Trump is staying on script.

(4,802 posts)Perhaps, Chris Matthew's lousy coverage days before created this mess..
Not sure which station to watch tonight. Chris Hayes played into the hands of those who think the system rigged.
He could have balanced out this AP release with a critical guest as to the role of the media. Even so, his guest Charlie Pierce called the action of the AP and NBC , unnerving.
The system has been rigged ever since Debbie Wasserman placed one of the debates to be at the same time as Des Moines based , Hawkeyes vs the Gophers game at the same time as the Sanders/ Hillary debate.

(29,692 posts)According to Wikipedia
The Associated Press (AP) is an American multinational nonprofit news agency headquartered in New York City, and operated as a cooperative, unincorporated association. The AP is owned by its contributing newspapers, radio, and television stations in the United States, all of which contribute stories to the AP and use material written by its staff journalists. Most of the AP staff are Union members and are represented by the Newspaper Guild, which operates under the Communication Workers of America, which operates under the AFL-CIO.
As of 2007, news collected by the AP was published and republished by more than 1,700 newspapers, in addition to more than 5,000 television and radio broadcasters. The photograph library of the AP consists of over 10 million images. The AP operates 243 news bureaus in 120 countries. It also operates the AP Radio Network, which provides newscasts twice hourly for broadcast and satellite radio and television stations. Many newspapers and broadcasters outside the United States are AP subscribers, paying a fee to use AP material without being contributing members of the cooperative. As part of their cooperative agreement with the AP, most member news organizations grant automatic permission for the AP to distribute their local news reports. The AP employs the "inverted pyramid" formula for writing that enables the news outlets to edit a story to fit its available publication area without losing the story's essentials.

(7,133 posts)Sanders has failed to take a strong stand when confronted by the violence of his supporters. After the Las Vegas fiasco, he issued a weakly worded condemnation followed by a long litany of shop-worn complaints against the Democratic Party that effectively formed a justification for his supporters' behavior. Ditto when it came to the anti-Trump rally in California that turned into a near-riot. He said violence was unacceptable but went on to say that the people's anger was understandable etc etc, again in a tone that gave the protesters moral cover. I'm surprised the media, for all of its alleged anti-Sanders bias, has not pointed this out (maybe because that bias is just another manifestation of Bernie's persecution complex). The man is a faux prophet.

. So prepare your responses...
Trump is going to rail on , not about Hillary's emails as Secretary of State but Hillary's emails as to the TPP.
A Trump supporter blurted out , stop the TPP at yesterday's rally . This will be a recurring theme starting today. Hillary is quoted as saying. The TPP is the gold standard of trade deals. This is not news, so don't think we are spilling his secrets.
Clinton supporters gave us a candidate who is unbelievable by those who take a lunch box to work. Hillary needs Bernie more than Bernie needs Hillary. In case she does a lousy job of rebutting The Donald, Bernie had better continue making himself available at least through Philadelphia.. That was the reason about 1 million Democrats crossed over and voted for Trump in the GOP primaries in Ohio, Pennsylvania , and Virginia.
Today, Thom Hartman is worried about Trump's speech last night. So should you. It was effective. So get ready.

(182 posts)Yeah, there is nothing as common as the opposition "faking it" to get into a group in order to reek havoc on them.
I know of freethinker groups in several states that were totally taken over by theist froot loops. There whole thing was to make freethinkers look bad and to occupy. They took the groups over in a short time. They got elected to all the positions by bringing huge numbers of infiltrators into the groups.
Also, they were the nastiest people ever because the truth is they are far less moral than people who do not have to be told what is right or wrong, they already know.
