GOP Senators Finally Starting To Realize Their Party Nominated A Total Racist
Source: Huffington Post
Sen. Mark Kirk (R-Ill.) became the first Republican member of Congress to rescind an endorsement of Donald Trump, saying on Tuesday that he could no longer support his partys presumptive nominee for president after Trumps racist attacks against a federal judge.
I cannot and will not support my partys nominee for President, he said.
Kirks statement was the most powerful denunciation of Trump to come from Republicans on Capitol Hill, but it was hardly the only one, suggesting that Trumps racist attacks are finally starting to worry GOP lawmakers.

(14,530 posts)The republican party is so full of racist that they don't recognize it as racism.
The republican party built it. They fucking own it. No excuses.
I said a while back that they secretly love trump. They get to publically be against his racism, while patting him on the back in meetings.

(2,886 posts)Pats and whatever on the back...the other thought I saw posted earlier was that Trump could be a "bait and switch" kind of thing to get Jeb, Rubio or even Romney back in the race, if that is the case I think they have grossly miscalculated because the Trumpers will be so pissed off that they will not vote R (we hope).

(48,999 posts)They almost didn't vote for Romney. They swore up and down they'd never "hold there nose and vote for the GOPe nominee again" (GOP elite).
This time around the baggers seemed to want either Cruz or tRump.
They think Ryan, McCain, and Rubio are leftwingers close to Hillary on the spectrum and that Rush Limbaugh is not very conservative so they don't listen to him any more.

(23,944 posts)their current wave of denial seems to be of the "methinks the senator doth protest too much" variety.
i don't think they know how to win a presidential election without it anymore, but ongoing demographic shift is going to end their party RSN. their "autopsy" from 2012 was all about winning the Hispanic vote, and so far they've done nothing but alienate it.

(28,120 posts)has degrees from Cornell, London School of Economics, and Georgetown making him fiscally a Wall-Street-protecting R but less likely the racist as are the general dumbass-rube officeholders in that party.
Take Louie Gohmert (Retard TX) for instances, he's probably never even heard of those schools...but I'm sure he's worn a white hood on his head at one time.
BUT when Newt sez you're too racist, Wow, tRump is crossing some lines in the party.

(22,669 posts)Most every republican I know is gleefully going to vote for Drumpf, with their chests stuck out and chins held high. The fact that he's a racist is EXACTLY what they like about him, women republicans included.
What offends them about Hillary Clinton the most, is that she's a woman and a democrat. In their words, "it's not the right time to have a woman as president," but don't state why or how they came to that conclusion.
Their opinions are, not coincidentally, the same as the talking points coming from Fox Entertainment outlets. No way to HRC. No way to Bernie. But Drumpf and anyone with an R by their name can do no wrong.

A hard one? A hard one, asshole? Senator Collins you have no decency either (not that I expected any).
