New Kansas poll: Hillary Clinton is hot but Sam Brownback and Legislature are very cold
Source: Kansas City Star
A new poll out today contains a big surprise about the U.S. presidential race in Kansas.
Hillary Clinton is a hot choice with Sunflower State voters compared to Democratic presidential candidates in the past.
Heres the no-surprise but still important part of the poll.
People are really unhappy with their elected officials Gov. Sam Brownback and the Kansas Legislature especially when it comes to school funding. Thats satisfying to know now that Brownback has called lawmakers back into special session on June 23 to deal with proper funding for public education.

Wow, I thought that Kansas would be in the write-off as a Red State category.

(6,972 posts)But what I DO know is that a majority of people who voted for Republican Sam Brownback and their Republican elected officials there in Kansas as they continue to destroy that states economy and jobs market. However, I can recall that they were past angry at Brownback the LAST time he was running for Senator and yet he was STILL voted in again to represent the state of Kansas and it's citizens, and what has he given them in return for their voting him back in? A swift kick in their buttocks and the middle-finger.
For sure this poll would be something to smile about if it were to REALLY. But it's still only June and remember, the "good folks" of Kansas STILL voted Brownback in as their Senator, and returned many of those same folks back to the legislature that have been "screwing' them and their families/economy/way of life for many years.

(4,234 posts)KS has probably got the most corrupt voting machines in the country. The average Repub tilt (the % the so-called actual vote, i.e., the machine counted purported vote tallies, diverges from the unadjusted exit polls) according to Election Defense Alliance, is about 7%. Add to that the fact that sec of state Kobach has done everything in his power to suppress the vote of voters throughout the state, and it's pretty easy to see how Brownshirt was anointed gov. I doubt very seriously he would be the gov today if all the voters could have voted who wanted to vote and were eligible to vote and if hand-counted paper ballots had been used and not machines. Even if the pre-election polls have Hillary beating Trump by 10 points the day before this November's vote, I would put money on Trump.
Anyway, when you say Brownshirt "was STILL voted in again to represent the state of Kansas and it's citizens," you might keep that in mind. In point of fact, KS voters are not as stupid as they are made out to be. The real problem is that US doesn't have a democracy anymore.

Obviously they have something to hide.

Look at this guy! Look at him! That is the face of a master strategist and not at all of an unhinged, failed politician that has never accomplished anything in his life. And before you say "But didn't he lose the gubernatorial election by 40 points and don't New Yorkers revile this scumbag?" Well yes, obviously, and you might say "didn't he threaten a reporter with a baseball bat during the 2010 election?" Of course he did! How else is he supposed to win without threatening to bludgeon a few reporters? But he will be laughing all the way to the bank when his plan to send out thousands of Trump bumper stickers to New Yorkers swings the Empire Sate to Goober McClownfart...I mean Donald Trump!

(23,311 posts)I'm curious about your perspective. I would weigh the cost of increasing debt against the benefit of the expenditures that could be made by borrowing more.

(16,399 posts)Brownback and the legislature have given the store away with giant tax cuts. Operating with debt is fine, but they are spiraling out of control and don't have the revenue to pay for toilet paper at this point.
