First on CNN: Clinton campaign takes control of DNC
Source: CNN
Hillary Clinton's campaign is taking the reins of the Democratic National Committee, installing a new top official on Thursday to oversee the party's day-to-day operations through the general election.
Brandon Davis, national political director for the Service Employees International Union, will become the general election chief of staff for the Democratic Party. His selection formalizes the coordination of the Clinton campaign and the committee, a stark contrast to Donald Trump who is currently at odds with his party.
...
The leadership of the Democratic National Committee, particularly Chairwoman Debbie Wasserman Schultz, has come under fire throughout the presidential primary fight. Bernie Sanders has called for new leaders at the party, a point he raised during his private meeting earlier this week with Clinton.
Wasserman Schultz welcomed Mook and Davis to party headquarters on Thursday morning. While she will remain in her position as the party's chairwoman, at least through the convention next month in Philadelphia, her role diminishes with the Clinton campaign's takeover of the committee.

As for her House seat, the race is not expected to be competitive, let alone one that results in a defeat for DWS.

But for the most part Obama supporters were glad to have us former Hillary voters. Not so mush today. Hillary supporters despise former Bernie voters.
Every day here on DU another Hillary supporters tells me how Bernie is the Antichrist. Do you really think that's going to make me vote for your side?

(2,979 posts)LOLWUT?
Maybe a very very VERY small minority of Hillary supporters do, but most are more than happy to bring us in to the fold. Because they are all well aware just what's at stake here. As are most Bernie supporters.
Stop spreading that bullshit.
It only helps drumpf.

I'm not going to list all the awfulness Hillary supporters are putting out about Bernie. Take a look at this site. It's everywhere. It wasn't like this when I switched over to Obama after Hillary lost in 2007-2008.

How come Obama was so accepting of former Hillary voters while Hillary supporters continually post derogatory things about Bernie. She won already, HELLO are you not paying attention? Why the need for the constant barrage of hate sent Bernie's way? You got what you wanted. You would think you would be happy and NOT so hateful.

(68,868 posts)Here's what Sanders has not provided:
an acknowledgement of our votes, that our votes mattered, and that Clinton's win was legitimate because of our votes.
Clinton has acknowledged and recognized--repeatedly--Sanders's voters and what they wanted.
Sanders pretends Clinton supporters don't exist. To hear him, no human beings voted for Clinton, only Super PACs, vampire lobbyists, and Wall Street.
Respect is a two-way street, and Sanders has shown nothing but contempt for those who disagree with him and denied him victory.
fasttense
(17,301 posts)Do you not pay attention? You won we lost. What more do you want grovelling, and an apology?
Talk about sore losers you Hillary supporters are sore winners.
Next thing you are going to say is get over it. Just like when W stole the election from Gore all the RepubliCONS said get over it.

At any rate, I'm pretty sure HRC is as accepting of former Sanders supporters, as (President) Obama was of former HRC voters.
MynameisBlarney
(2,979 posts)That's just plain silly.
I'm a Bernie supporter, but it looks like Hillary's soon going to be officially the Democratic nominee.
I don't have a problem supporting her once it's official, because I don't want that fascist bastard Drumpf anywhere near the oval office unless he's wearing a badge that says "visitor" on it.
When there's a real possibility that he could be prez, it makes it a very easy choice for me.

(17,301 posts)it's just great that you can take this constant Bernie bashing and still help out the Hillary supporters. That's just great how forgiving and accepting you are.
But for me, I do not want to join the side of the sore winners. I didn't become a RepubliCON when W stole the election in 2000 and I bet you didn't either.

DU is my site. I've been here a long time and I'm not ashamed of it.
But they are not the only site filled with Bernie bashing. I am regularly on Daily KOs and Salon. They too have angry hate filled Hillary supporters.
I think the sore winners just can't get enough of insulting a socialist. I really think it gives them a rush or.... a few more bucks.
MynameisBlarney
(2,979 posts)I rarely go to those sites. Especially Salon, the format bugs the shit outta me for some reason.
I'm mostly on Raw Story and Crooks and Liars and here.
At RS a while back, there was ugly bashing from both sides, the mods put a stop to that after a bit.

But I have a serious question. You repeatedly make reference that the Hillary people here are somehow preventing you and perhaps others from supporting Clinton because they are being rude.
Do you really let strangers opinions on a public forum affect who you vote for?
I truly find that amazing. Perhaps you are too emotionally involved on this site? People here do not reflect average Americans. We are generally hyper partisans.
Maybe give this site a test for a couple of weeks. See if that changes your feelings.

As for Sanders, he doesn't get to choose. Hillary and the party will listen to him and probably accept some of his proposals, but not all of them.

"This is in fact what happens," Howard Dean, former Democratic Party chairman, told CNN. "Debbie will still have the title, but somebody else will be the effective operator of the DNC. It's Hillary's pick."
In an interview on Thursday, Dean recalled how he transitioned immediately to simply raising money and campaigning for Barack Obama in 2008 after Paul Tewes, a trusted Obama aide, stepped in to lead the committee.
"We basically just turned it over to him and I left the building to him. He ran the DNC," Dean said. "It was very clear I wasn't going to be running the DNC as soon as there was the a nominee."

....Robby Mook, the Clinton campaign manager, arrived Thursday morning at Democratic headquarters on Capitol Hill to introduce Davis to the party's staff.
"We have a lot of work to do over the next five months to make sure that Donald Trump does not become president," Mook said as he introduced Davis, according to a person in the room. "With so much at stake in this election, we could not ask for a better partner in that mission than the team here."
