Ryan: Republicans Should 'Absolutely' Follow Their Conscience On Trump

Source: Talking Points Memo

House Speaker Paul Ryan said in an interview teased Friday that "the last thing" he would do is instruct Republicans to support Donald Trump regardless of their personal qualms.

"Absolutely," he told NBC's "Meet the Press." "The last thing I would do is tell anybody to do something that's contrary to their conscience. Of course I wouldn't do that."

Ryan has endorsed Trump for president, and is the chair of this year's Republican National Convention.

This isn't the first time that Ryan has telegraphed some ambivalence about the presumptive GOP nominee. In previous comments, Ryan has said that his endorsement doesn't constitute a "blank check" for Trump.

If Trump wins, Ryan will tell him "See, I endorsed you".

If tRump loses, Ryan will tell tRump's supporters, "It wasn't me, people voted their conscience".

Ryan is not a leader. He is unwilling to reject the man he called racist.

see their conscience as a some sort of shadow and follow it. Good luck with that, asking rethugs to follow their non-existent conscience predicts 10,000 more years of medieval winter.

Ryan just don't like the fact that Trump shows what republicans are really made of. The GOP is a party that should descend into the past as representative of bigoted evil fascist assholes.
