The Latest: Assistant state attorney suspended over post

Updated 10:48 pm, Friday, June 17, 2016

ORLANDO, Fla. (AP) . . .

10 p.m.

Officials say a Florida assistant state attorney has been suspended after posting a Facebook statement tied to the Pulse nightclub attack.

WESH-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1Y0cRlO ) that Ninth Judicial Circuit state attorney's office spokeswoman Angela Starke says Kenneth Lewis was suspended Friday for violating the office's social media policy.

The Sunday morning post slams downtown Orlando as dangerous and says the whole city "should be leveled." He calls it "a melting pot of 3rd world miscreants and ghetto thugs."

Lewis was temporarily reassigned in 2014 after making a post using the term "crack hoes," the station reports.

You'd think people in positions like this would know better.

Hate is hard to keep stuffed inside.

"3rd world miscreants and ghetto thugs", I like to correct them and say, you mean the least among us.

because it allows the public to see him for what he is

It's the ones that are devious enough to cover up their racist misogynist sexist
and homophobic selves that are more of a problem and a danger to equal application
of the law

Time for him to open a wills and trusts law practice that serves gated communities

I haven't seen it yet. Saw it on Reddit yesterday and I'm so angry I can't shake it off.

A county commissioner in Florida complained about what he called a "divisive, politically-charged symbol" this week: A rainbow flag put up to honor victims of the Orlando shooting. Stacy White wrote to the Hillsborough County HR director, saying his offices received "an anonymous phone call from a county employee stating that, because of her strong Christian beliefs, it will be nearly unbearable for her pass the 'pride' flag each morning as she enters the workplace,"

You know what? If your Christianity taught you to love people (even sinners like you) instead of hating them for being different, maybe you'd understand honoring the dead with a flag after a horrific hate crime. They are dead for Christ's sake. If you can't hide your hate for awhile after someone's death, then I don't give a fuck if you think your workplace is 'hostile' and unbearable...because lady, your hate is unbearable and it's all on you. You are the problem, not the gay flag. STFU

You have the right to hate all you want, but you don't have the right to impede the decent caring actions of others to pander to your hate!

She probably drives by it to get to work.

But a rainbow flag is offensive.
