Church sign saying 'Satan made gays' covered in black paint

Source: Omaha.com

BUFORD, Ga. (AP) — Members of a metro Atlanta church say their sign outside proclaiming that "Satan made gays & transgender" has been covered in black paint by vandals.

Gwinnett County police Cpl. Michele Pihera said officers were called to the Back To The Bible Holiness Church in Buford after the paint was discovered Monday.

Church representatives told police they hadn't received any complaints about the message before the damage.

Don Flint, a minister at the church, tells The Atlanta Journal-Constitution (www.on-ajc.com/28QhkD5 ) that the sign had been up for about three weeks — well before the June 12 shooting that left 49 people dead at a gay nightclub in Orlando, Florida.

or they're blaming Satan for God's actions. Didn't their god create Satan? Isn't their god supposed to know everything? So shouldn't that mean that their god could see the future, which means their god knew what Satan would do when it created Satan?

That ought to be viewed as hate speech and treated as such. What if I put up signs on my own property that said "Satan made Christians", or, "Christians are assholes", or, "Baptists smell like shit", or something of the sort? I'd probably get my property shot up, for one thing, several of my neighbors would be very inclined to kick my ass, for another. My own parents would call me an idiot and make me take it down.

They do not realize, I think, just how ridiculous, how cruel - and how hateful they are being (if they do - fuck em, actually, fuck em anyway). Perhaps we should start putting up our own signs. In particular, giant billboards with pictures of men hugging each other and kissing each other and holding hands. We could say something like "God loves love." Maybe, "God hates assholes". Or, "Satan made rednecks and Trump"

I oppose it, simply because it is a violation of the law.

Moreover, we should encourage speech and signs like this, as it makes identifying the assholes much easier when they come out and admit it.

I looked at the guy's sign. It seems like it would be more effective to go to a store in another town that sells channel letters, buy a couple of "H" letters, and field-modify the sign in the middle of the night to read "There Is No God." Then, naturally, call the media. "Hey, did you know there's a church at (address) with a sign denying God?"
