O'Malley to headline Clinton campaign events in Iowa
Source: Des Moines Register
Martin OMalley is returning to Iowa this week to campaign for his former presidential rival, Hillary Clinton.
OMalley, the former Maryland governor who finished a distant third in Iowas first-in-the-nation presidential caucuses in February, will visit campaign offices in Des Moines on Thursday and Sioux City on Friday to campaign for Clinton, the presumptive Democratic nominee.
Hell lead a phone bank at Iowa Democratic Party headquarters in Des Moines at 5 p.m. Thursday, followed by an organizing event at the Clinton campaigns Sioux City field office at 12:30 p.m. on Friday.
OMalley is traveling through Iowa this week on his way to a speaking gig at the South Dakota Democratic Partys state convention, and previously announced an informal meet-and-greet with supporters and former campaign aides on Thursday in Des Moines.

(94,489 posts)This week, former Maryland governor and presidential candidate Martin OMalley will campaign for Hillary Clinton. Tomorrow, at a phone bank at the Iowa Democratic Party Headquarters, and Friday, at an organizing event in Sioux City, O'Malley will discuss Clinton's plans to build an economy that works for everyone, not just those at the top, and Donald Trump who is too reckless and erratic to manage the economy.

Still, the appearances represent the Clinton campaigns first general-election events in Iowa featuring a national surrogate.

(42,862 posts)I've always liked Martin O'Malley. (If he'd been the nominee, it would have been fun to see "Vote for MOM" bumper stickers and signs.)

(58,785 posts)to defeat the GOP. For all that's gone wrong politically this season, the Democratic ticket offers Americans very good choices.
Thanks, Brooklynite. I loved reading that O'Malley's out there. Hopefully, this next administration will offer him a really good challenge.

(12,448 posts)O'Malley was my governor and he did a lot for Maryland. He was actually my second choice in the primaries; if Hillary hadn't run I would have been proud to support him.
I too think he'll play an important role in the Clinton administration, whether as VP or as a Cabinet member.
