Grand jury declines to indict ex-cop involved in McKinney pool party

Source: Dallas Morning News

A Collin County grand jury on Thursday declined to indict a former McKinney police officer who came under fire for his role in breaking up a rowdy pool party last summer.

Eric Casebolt, who is white, was recorded on video pinning a black teenage girl to the ground and drawing his gun on two youths who rushed in to help her.

“We’re glad that the system worked in his favor in this case,” said Casebolt’s attorney, Tom Mills.

Attorneys for the teens whose families had threatened to sue Casebolt were not immediately available for comment.

That did a totally unnecessary drop & roll as he was chasing around unarmed teenagers in swim suits that could not have hidden anything? That guy was NUTS!

If I were his boss I would have gotten him drug tested.

7. Yes, and I suspect that might have something to do with a lot of cop rage

Although during a show about the Stanford Prison Experiment I did see a mention of a study that said that people, especially me, put in positions of power produce more testosterone than normal. I wonder if that increased hormone could give the effects of use of steroids and create 'roid rage in those men?

I would still like to see cops drug tested on a regular basis especially those who have had incidents of abuse of power.

12. That's only for trial juries. There is no equivalent process for a Grand Jury. I don't believe

"Moving Forward, Strengthening Police and Community Relationship" HAHAHA try successfully prosecuting bad cops first...

I am sure that if it had been a large group of white children the cops would never have been called by the neighbors.

expected a different outcome here.

I also don't put much stock in the fact that this guy is (currently) no longer employed in law enforcement. He was resigned before any disciplinary action could be taken against him. Wouldn't surprise me if he ended up working for a department in a few years when people don't remember this story anymore.

The officer who shot Tamir Rice preemptively resigned to avoid being fired from another police department before he got hired by CPD.
