Trump blasts media in meeting with House Republicans

Source: The Hill

In his first meeting with House Republicans, Donald Trump on Thursday sought to do damage control, blasting the "disingenuous" media for reporting that he praised former Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein at a rally this week, said sources in the room.

"I said, 'Hussein was a very, very bad man, but the one thing he did very well was kill terrorists,'" Trump told a standing room only crowd of House Republicans at the Capitol Hill Club. "The next day a wake up to headlines that say "Trump praises Hussein. The media is totally disingenuous."

Trump, accompanied by his daughter and close adviser, Ivanka Trump, arrived to the meeting about 20 minutes late.

But he received two standing ovations — once when he arrived and later when CNBC's Larry Kudlow introduced him.

The only gotcha is that the electoral college delegates couldn't vote for both of them. If ny isn't in play, it's no loss to a t squared ticket. Worst case is he wins ny, and the electoral college, but not by enough to certify both if the vp can't get the 27 ev's.. So he gets the presidency and the house will chose the vp.

Two people have now publicly mentioned it. Corker and Eric Trump. They are floating it and he will chose it.

They're supposed not only to give him free air time--while Democrats have to pay for theirs--but also the media is supposed to present only flattering depictions of the Yammering Yam.

They seem to dropping out, one by one. Rubio not attending the convention, only Pence left as a potential vice presidential nominee, Trump now depending on his family to talk at the convention. Drip, drip, drip.
