Cruz will fly to Dallas with Obama on Air force one

Source: Politico

In a dramatic display of bipartisan unity after a horrific tragedy, Ted Cruz will accompany President Barack Obama aboard Air Force One to Dallas on Tuesday, the Texas senator's office said.

Cruz and Obama have long been bitter ideological rivals, with Cruz leading the charge to try to defund Obama's signature health care law and tank his immigration proposals — Cruz even confronted Obama personally about Obamacare in 2013. But the shooting deaths of five police officers in Dallas are bringing the president and conservative star together in the name of national togetherness.

Texas's other senator, Majority Whip John Cornyn, will also attend the memorial event on Tuesday, but is scheduled to arrive earlier than the president and will not fly on Air Force One.

"We thanked them very much and said give me a raincheck," Cornyn said. "This is something he’s good at. We’re glad to have him, we appreciate the gesture on his part."

Chris here folks;

I watched his stump campaign talk over and over looking for a way in to discredit him,and after watching rerun after rerun after rerun I began to see him standing before the crowds of people in a funny looking bath robe. I know,I know,some people see me and the Goodyear blimp as one in the same.

Is Cruz still a conservative star? I figured that his name would be more or less mud after crumbling to Trump in the primary.

Ugh, thinking of Cruz makes my skin crawl, and I feel bad that Obama has to put up with sharing space on an aircraft with him.

Even if Cruz does see the light after a long heart to heart with Obama, he could never convince the rest of the GOP, and he certainly couldn't convince Trump's acolytes. Having lost to Trump, Cruz's opinion is a devalued currency. Always assuming it ever had any value, but you know what I mean.

This is a gracious invitation on our President's part, and political theater on Cruz's part. I have zero doubt of it.

That's only fair because the corporate-owned media demanded Hillary pay over half a million dollars for riding on Air Force One. Since she had to, it is dishonest of him to not to.

I actually even applaud Cruz for agreeing to go.

The problem that I have is that Cruz will be all smiles and hugs today, but will gain NOTHING from the actual sentiment of this gesture and from this memorial. He will go right back to spreading hate and lies against Obama tomorrow.

Some, like Obama, understand forgiveness. Others, like Cruz, don't have any idea what the religion they tout actually teaches.

It doesn't say, but did our president invite the rest of the Texas congressional delegation to travel to Dallas on AF1? Our president is a gracious man and a true human being. It does no good to stoop to the Republicans' level.
