Trump Wants Ginsburg Off The Supreme Court ASAP For Criticizing Him

Source: Talking Points Memo

Donald Trump chided Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg in a Tuesday interview with The New York Times after she gave multiple comments that were highly critical of his campaign.

“I think it’s highly inappropriate that a United States Supreme Court judge gets involved in a political campaign, frankly,” Trump told the Times by phone. “I think it’s a disgrace to the court and I think she should apologize to the court. I couldn’t believe it when I saw it.”

Ginsburg in recent days has ramped up her criticisms of Trump's campaign. She has said he's a "faker" who should release his tax returns, that she "can't imagine" a Trump presidency, and that "everything" would be up for grabs with him occupying the White House. Ginsburg's comments are unique in that a Supreme Court justice typically doesn't comment on presidential candidates during election season.

Trump went on to say that it was "beneath the court" for Ginsburg to criticize him and argued that her comments would only further energize his supporters. "And I would hope that she would get off the court as soon as possible,” he added.

As we go deeper into the presidential campaign season, Trump will be attacked from all directions all of the time.

Geez! Somebody criticizes Trump and he wants her fired and goes nuts in attacking her.

I'll bet Ginsburg will just let Trump's remarks roll off her back.

This is another example of why Trump is not fit to be POTUS. If Trump took even 1% of the attacks Obama had during his presidency, or what Hillary has taken since she was First Lady, his head would have exploded a long time ago. Both of them have taken the relentless attacks with a lot of poise and class.

Trump simply does not have the temperament to be a public official. Not even close.

There's a good chance we can retake the Senate, so I'm thinking optimistically. If Repugs are a majority, the country is in real trouble as they will not let any candidate go through, none. Dems would have to play major hard ball to stop that and that's something that they generally refuse to do.

It was as insulting as Joe Wilson yelling "You Lie!" in the middle of the President's first joint session of Congress. The protocol breaches have been egregious and the GOP has been vicious in formal public settings in terms of insulting this current President. Plus you have Justices like Clarence Thomas allowing his wife to continue to run rampant and stalk while he refuses to recuse himself from cases due to her activism.

Why isn't the mind-numbingly mad logic of bullshit like that patently obvious to his supporters? Or is that part of his... apparent appeal?

Stating that it was improper for a Justice of the Supreme Court to speak of her disdain for a Presidential candidate, while the very same Presidential candidate speaks of his disdain for a Justice of the Supreme Court... There is absolutely nothing in the Constitution that suggests that anyone in the judicial branch must be apolitical.

Of course, he did rather kick it off with his attack of a Mexican federal judge. Which is, of course, quite remarkable, as the man was born in Indiana.

And, consistent with judicial ethics binding federal judges with respect to statements made about parties in litigation before them, he said nothing.

Crap like that definitely triggers the 'is he actually for real' question for me.
