Poll: Rubio widens lead in U.S. Senate race

Source: Politico

U.S. Sen. Marco Rubio is widening his lead over the two major Florida Democrats who seek to unseat him, according to a new Quinnipiac University poll.

Rubio leads U.S. Rep. Patrick Murphy by 50-37 percent — a 6-point shift in the Republican incumbent’s favor since Quinnipiac’s last poll of Florida voters in June. And Rubio leads U.S. Rep. Alan Grayson by 50-38 percent, a 4-point shift since last month.

The poll indicates voters don’t mind that Rubio broke his pledge to not run for his Senate seat if he lost his bid for the White House this year.

“Democrats made fun of Sen. Marco Rubio when he opted for a last-minute re-election bid in Florida, but he may be on the way to a last laugh, having quickly opened double digit leads over both Democratic challengers,” said Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll.

It's just proof that Republican voters lack values, and have no integrity!

about how Rubio was the biggest no show in both houses of Congress, that he is famous for being the laziest SOB ever to be sent to Congress, and how Florida deserves better than that.

He might still lose--the majority of Floridians are that dumb--but at least they'll have been warned.

leans very much into the republican camp

I just wonder if they had a question in there that said:

(1) Question:
How many days did Rubio miss votes in the U.S. Senate and will that effect your vote for him and the $174,000.00 he got doing exactly what?

http://www.factcheck.org/2015/11/senators-missing-votes/

(2) Question:
And do you think Marco Rubio would gut and cut and vote to privatize social security and medicare

https://retiredamericans.org/sen-marco-rubio-wants-to-raise-retirement-age-for-social-security-privatize-medicare/

(3) Question:
Do think Marco Rubio panders to special interests to much, and is worried about paying off his boat?

We voted for Obama both times? So save your sense of superiority for some other state. We will go Democratic for the 3rd straight election. And we have a reliable democratic senator in Graham. Plus with our new amendment about redistricting we will have a less red congressional delegation.

If we were not full of rich Midwestern retirees we would be solid blue. We just lack a deep democratic bench due to 20 years of gerrymandering but that is changing. And while out of state folks love Grayson his is not popular here even among democrats. He is just a dick and is seen by many here as a corrupt lawyer with an offshore hedge fund. I will vote for him over a Republican but most will not.

So do not denigrate us. We are on the right track.

... who has come out and said he doesn't like being a Senator, who takes back his decision not to run, suddenly become the front runner with a big lead? Anybody with any sense would say "Bye Little Marco", Grayson's weaknesses notwithstanding.

Until he has an actual opponent and see what happens.

The problem with sites like this is that we forget that 95% of the people do not really pay much attention to politics till just before an election.
