Newt Gingrich: We Should ‘Test Every Person Here Who Is of a Muslim Background’

Last edited Fri Jul 15, 2016, 02:27 AM - Edit history (3)

Source: Mediaite

In reaction to the attack in Nice, France tonight, Newt Gingrich told Sean Hannity tonight that it’s time for America to get serious about fighting the terrorism because “Western civilization is in a war.”

Gingrich, who said he was in Paris just last weekend, said, “We should, frankly, test every person here who is of a Muslim background, and if they believe in Sharia, they should be deported.”

He made it clear Americans should be “perfectly happy” to welcome Muslims “who have given up Sharia,” but said “we need to be fairly relentless about defining who our enemies are.”

The GOP has really become a fascist party.

How exactly would this test work? Would it be multiple choice? Should they be strapped to a lie detector?

Will American Muslims also be forced to wear badges on their arms so they can be easily identified?

Will a similar test also be administered to Jews so we can determine whether or not they're loyal Germans....errrr.....I mean....Americans?

Should Blacks and Hispanics also be given similar tests?

Why don't these hypocrites live up to their own standards?

Where are the tests for white people, to make sure they don't have racist leanings?

Where are the tests for Christians to make sure they don't have intolerant ideas?

What about tests for men, to make sure they don't have violent intentions towards their spouses?

Could it be that they don't propose those because Republicans would all fail them?

Sharia is simply a methodology for governance--Islam doesn't separate church and state.

There is nothing to "believe" in--sharia exists in several countries. Some incorporate it more, others less.

Hell, to some small extent you could say it exists here, with the Ten Commandments in court houses and In God We Trust on the money and So Help Me God in oaths of commissioning/office. We pay, from taxpayer coffers, for a chaplain for the House and the Senate. We staff our military with them, too.

We do "sharia." We just don't call it that.

Fri Jul 15, 2016, 06:37 AM
Jul 2016

In the Red Scare era, the "loyalty oath" crowd assumed that government employees who were CP members and who also(as most Party members didn't, for the record) supported the violent overthrow of the government would refuse to sign the oaths and then be found, removed from their jobs, and imprisoned. In the world as we know it, people like that would GLADLY sign the oath in order to aboid blowing their cover, and would also turn in other people as subversives in order to draw attention away from themselves.

If there actually were Muslims in this country who wanted to establish Sharia Law(none of them do, and the 1st Amendment would make it impossible to do that anyway), they would deny their support for Sharia and then say "But hey you should check on Ahmed over there. That dude's a total jihadi". As the SWAT team rolled in to end Ahmed, these guys would chuckle to themselves ,"serves you right for not returning my $%@! lawnmower, asshole".

"If combat means living in a ditch, females have biological problems staying in a ditch for thirty days because they get infections and they don't have upper body strength. I mean, some do, but they're relatively rare. On the other hand, men are basically little piglets, you drop them in the ditch, they roll around in it, doesn't matter, you know. These things are very real. On the other hand, if combat means being on an Aegis-class cruiser managing the computer controls for twelve ships and their rockets, a female may be again dramatically better than a male who gets very, very frustrated sitting in a chair all the time because males are biologically driven to go out and hunt giraffes."

-- Adjunct Professor Newt Gingrich, Reinhardt College, January 7, 1995, "Renewing American Civilization."
