Islamic State claimed responsibility for the truck attack on the French city of Nice on Saturday as French police arrested three people there in connection with the carnage that claimed the lives of at least 84 people.

"The person who carried out the operation in Nice, France, to run down people was one of the soldiers of Islamic State," the news agency Amaq, which supports Islamic State, said via its Telegram account.

"He carried out the operation in response to calls to target nationals of states that are part of the coalition fighting Islamic State," the statement said.

1. How do they know these guys are telling the truth? Those groups love to take responsibility for

any of this kind of stuff - if they had anything to do with it or not. They get all this free publicity and get to show what big, tough guys they are (sarcasm.)

At the very least, Daesh gets a lot of free publicity from the blood of others.

Under the assumption that 'lone wolves' are following their directive.

Got to drop that stuff. Mateen's wife also went on planning trips with him and his father held the same hateful philosophy, somehow the barely employed Mateen owned property and could afford repeated international travels. Not lone. Sorry.

I doubt ISIS was involved with the attack. They just want to take credit for lone wolf attacks like this.

What many Republicans won't mention or think about is that many of the Nice victims were muslims. The Trumps and Gingrichs of the world would be happy to victimize those victims all over again by associating them with the bad guys.

The lone wolves are probably more dangerous than anything organized by the group.

5. ISIS kills more Muslims than any other group

it kills. They are Islamic in name only, just an apocalyptic death cult.
And ISIS doesn't strike me as very nuanced. Wouldn't shock me at all if they just lump the entire West together, and not "oh, he's British and not French".
In short, they just seem to care about killing, and not too particular on who it is that dies

8. they don't kill Muslims for who they are; they do kill Yazidis & other non-Muslims for who they are

and motivation does matter. Most of the time ISIS attacks in Muslim territory, they're fighting people over the system of government. When they sell Yazidis into sex slavery, its because of the ethnoreligious background of them. Or when they kill in the West too against the "crusaders" they whine about. Yes ISIS does kill political opponents, but that isn't quite the same as singling out ethnic, religious, and ethnoreligious minorities.
