Sanders on Kaine: '100 times better' than Trump

Ever since the Virginia senator was chosen as Hillary Clinton’s running mate, Donald Trump has been trying to stir the pot by pointing to the way Tim Kaine (who is known to be a part of the more moderate part of the Democratic party) and Sanders differ in an attempt to win over the Vermont senator's backers.

But on CNN Sunday morning, Sanders said that while he and Kaine do differ, the newly minted Democratic vice presidential candidate is "100 times better" than Trump — and that's on his "worst, worst day."

"Tim is an extremely bright guy, a very nice guy. Are his political views different than mine? Yes, they are. He is more conservative than I am," Sanders told CNN's Jake Tapper.

"But compared to Donald Trump, a guy who rejects science, doesn't even believe that climate change is real, let alone that we have to take bold action to transform our energy system, a Donald Trump who wants to give hundreds of billions of dollars in tax breaks to the top two-tenths of 1%, a Donald Trump who goes around the country insulting Mexicans and Latinos and Muslims and women, veterans and African-Americans. Trust me, on — on his worst, worst, worst day, Tim Kaine is 100 times better than Donald Trump will ever be."

Which is exactly why Clinton picked him. He checks off enough boxes for people who value white southern males who might appear moderate but can't stomach Trump because he's such a bumbling buffoon. They don't know how liberal Kaine actually is. It's good that Trump's people are saying he's moderate or conservative.

Nobody else is from the South. Kaine is going to win Virginia for us. Indiana favored Trump even without Pence.
