Talks are reportedly underway to secure the ultimate show of party unity: having Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-VT) formally nominate Hillary Clinton for President on Tuesday night.
While no plan for Sanders to officially nominate Clinton after the Democratic National Convention's roll call vote, which is slated for Tuesday evening, has been publicly confirmed, NBC News first reported that negotiations to make that scenario a reality were ongoing:

(60,536 posts)to even consider Sen. Sanders placing her name in nomination, e.g. another display of Party unity or, if one is cynical enough, "Bernie's final capitulation in the race." I'm sure there are probably more rationales but, if I had to choose one, I'd go with "another display of Party unity."
