Trump Now Says He Never Met Putin After Bragging About Chats With Him

Donald Trump said Wednesday that he has never actually met Russian President Vladimir Putin despite bragging multiple times recently about conversations he has had with him.

"He said one nice thing about me. He said I'm a genius. I said thank you very much to the newspaper and that was the end of it. I never met Putin," Trump said.

Trump, who has complimented Putin before, said that he would treat the dictator "firmly" but have their two countries be "friendly."

On the GOP debate stage in November, though, Trump bragged about meeting the Russian leader.

"I got to know him very well because we were both on '60 Minutes,' we were stablemates, and we did very well that night," Trump said.

This morning at that press conference the longer it went on, the bolder he got. Carried away at his own "brilliance", he just couldn't help but brag about his relationship with Putin. Of course, he went way too far, but his mental disorder prevented him from realizing it. So now things he said are being walked back and if it were not for the pesky video tapes of previous statements he has made about Putin, he might have been able to get away with it. I hope this debacle of a press conference is the beginning of the end to the guy. He is without a doubt the MOST UNFIT candidate to run for president in my life....and I am not young. If this does not bring him down, nothing will! Excuse me now while I go throw up.

13. My understanding is that he lied at the debate

about meeting Putin, since they were actually interviewed in seperate locations. He did try to meet with Putin in 2013 in Moscow, but Putin cancelled at the last moment. He's had extensive dealings through middle men and Russian oligarchs though. I have a feeling until Trump actually started campaigning for president, he wasn't deemed important enough for a face to face. Trump has allways wanted to be buddies.
