Donald Trump: Geneva Conventions Are ‘Out of Date’

Source: Mediaite

Speaking at a press conference Wednesday, Donald Trump agreed with the statement that the Geneva Conventions outlawing war crimes were “out of date,” and reiterated his support for “enhanced interrogation” of terror suspects.

“Do you think the Geneva Conventions are out of date?” asked NBC’s Katy Tur. “I think everything’s out of date,” responded Trump. “We have a whole new world.”

Trump repeated his much-scrutinized comments that NATO was obsolete. “Three days later, people that study NATO said, ‘You know, Trump is right.’ You know what, we have a lot of things that are out of date because they’re 20 and 30 and 40 years old.”

“What would you renegotiate?” asked NBC’s Katy Tur. “The enhanced interrogation aspect of it…?”

The GC contemplates nice little organized countries throwing uniformed soldiers, with a clean chain of command, at one another.

It's basically worthless:

1. When dealing with civilizational warfare, when the civilian means of production are (or almost are) most important part of the war effort.

2. When dealing with non-uniformed combatants or combatants that move from combatant to civilian at will (It essentially says you can just hang them.)

3. When you are not dealing with a proper nation, but rather an assemblage of tribes or cultures, with no clear leader.

4. When you have asymmetric warfare, in general

So, I would concur it needs a new section.

He does this a lot - saying "people are starting to agree with me" or "people are starting to say 'Trump is right'" but he never says WHO these people are. What serious scholar of NATO would "come around" to Trump's position three days later?

Someone find out what size check we would need to write to have him go away.

He is venal enough. Like a bad date - there is a number that would make him go away. What is it?

Then we set up a go fund me page.

Might be the quickest fundraising campaign in history.

If he is asked about these diabolical positions at debate time, he
will say "I never said that. What I said was ...."

Hillary will have a difficult task pinning him down, especially if the
media won't fact check, and it won't more than about twice.

I encountered a full blown narcissist in my life. The lies and distortion
are absolutely toxic.

Narcissists belong in mental institutions. In all cases.

He never did answer the question about what he would change. The one thing he does best is to "avoid" any details on how he is going to change things, it will just be "better", and he never give real answers. Now the brain dead base love him, and will never see his faults, but the rest of the county, including independents, are going to start asking themselves, what the hell is he going to do to fix things he claims need to be fixed! We need for all voters to start asking themselves that question. We need to start asking anyone who wants to vote for Trump that question. And though it will probably never happen, the damned MSM needs to start pushing Trump to actually answer that question. They need to demand specifics, not let him get away with avoiding every question that he is asked regarding his plans to "make America great again".

I just dont agree with him on the rest of it because I think they are out of date because they dont specifically forbid waterboarding and other forms of torture like exposure to extremes of heat and cold and they should be updated to directly address those areas and forbid it from being used.

He'd still want to be able to sue other people, of course; that's his hobby, and also his main way of intimidating anyone who stands up to him. But he'd want to get away with anything, internationally, and he'd be happy to not invoke any kind of international law - he'd just attack someone he decided was a problem.

And the only people who have said "Trump is right" are fascists and racists, like David Duke.
