US Coalition Airstrikes Kill at Least 28 Civilians in Syria, Say Activists
Source: ABC NEWS
U.S.-led airstrikes killed at least 28 civilians, including seven children, in Syria on Thursday, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
The attack happened in al-Ghandour near Manbij, just one day after the U.S. announced a formal inquiry into airstrikes in the same area that may have led to the single largest loss of civilian life due to coalition airstrikes in Syria.
"The number of human losses in the area is rising dramatically," Rami Abdulrahman, founder of the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, told ABC News. "The coalition has to stop targeting neighborhoods with civilians. It is not acceptable that they target areas with civilians even if ISIS fighters are also present."
The death toll from Thursday's attack is expected to rise because some civilians are in critical condition, according to the observatory, which says it knows of an additional 13 killed who have yet to be identified.

Syria: Deadly Air Strike Hits Idlib Maternity Hospital
At least two people have been killed and several, including babies, wounded, in an air strike on a maternity hospital in Syria's Idlib province, according to the international charity Save the Children, which supports the facility.
The UK-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also said on Friday the hospital in the rebel-held town of Kafar Takharim was heavily damaged and left barely operational.
Save the Children said the strike hit the front of the hospital building, at a time when two operations were under way and a woman was in labour.
"Several babies were injured when their incubators crashed to the floor, and a woman who was six months pregnant had her leg severed," Save the Children said in a statement.

(12,882 posts)Gosh - I'd MUCH rather do that than rebuild our hiways and water systems! Is there a place I can send contributions that'll only buy bombs? In fact, we ought to have a new campaign in this country: BUY BOMBS! sorta like trhe old WWII war bond selling plea: BUY BONDS, but with a more direct indicator of where said funds will go. Maybe some posters showing crumbled buildings and bodies lying about.
Maybe if you reach a certain donations goal, they'd give you the option of having a slogan or statement that suits you stenciled on YOUR bomb! I know I'd MUCH RATHER blow some damn muslims ass to bits than fix the worn out suspension on my car!
