"Legally removed his mandatory ankle monitor"...

That makes no sense.

Srsly.

How is the thing even removable, except by the court?

"Eh, I don't feel like wearing this while I go kill someone."

Me either, bro. Me either.

I'm thinking they need to go to collar devices that don't come off until their time is completely up.

The two brothers may have been the shooter(s), but I don't trust the Post any farther than I can throw them.

"The cold-blooded brothers were targeting a man they could tell wasn’t from the neighborhood, local cops said."

I guess this sounds reasonable, within the social milieu in which these two circulate. The rest of us just struggle with the incomprehensible. I hope this brings something to her family, though the senselessness seems heightened by the explanation, not assuaged.

The gang higher ups are all serving long prison terms. Thus, no one is around to tell these shitheads to knock it off.

These are block by block groups.

If you have spent no time with these people it is hard to describe how stupid they are. They have a very hard time figuring out how walking around with a gun is a bad idea. You try to explain to them how they are screwing up their lives and it goes in one ear and out the other.

The 2 arrested are brothers...

The man escaped unscathed and later helped police track down his would-be killers.

The older brother, Darwin, has had six felony arrests and was paroled in February for vehicle theft, Chicago Police Superintendent Eddie Johnson said in a Sunday news conference.

The younger brother, Derrell, was paroled less than three weeks ago after serving four years for possession of a stolen vehicle.

Both are known gang members, and one committed the murder during his daily break from his mandatory ankle bracelet, Johnson said.

Apparently removal of the monitor is permitted in certain circumstances.

trump omerta. The same happened for the girl that was gunned down who had performed at Obama's inauguration.

Of course the status of the victim or the perpetrator should not matter, but it does for both the community and LEOs.

One of the two alleged killers never had a weapons or violence conviction (Derron the younger one). His older brother Darwin should never been out of prison. He had both aggravated battery with serious injuries and gun convictions.

Derron was allowed to turn off his ankle monitor to look for a job. I wonder how well those efforts are documented for others in this position. When I was unemployed, I had to turn in a certain number of contacts every week.

who dropped off women at a house in their neighborhood...only because they could tell he was not from the area...The man escaped unscathed and later helped police track down his would-be killers..." (link)

A man they didn't recognize who dropped off women they most likely didn't recognize -- was there a local prostitution or drug dealing competition going on? But this clears up the snitching issue -- it's NOT snitching if you're actually the victim.
