Apple tax: Irish cabinet to appeal EU Commission ruling

Source: BBC

The Republic of Ireland's cabinet has agreed to appeal the European Commission's ruling that Ireland granted undue tax benefits of up to €13bn (£11bn) to Apple.

The decision was taken after a half-hour meeting of the cabinet.

The Irish government previously said it "disagrees profoundly" with the ruling.

Apple chief executive Tim Cook said he was "very confident" the ruling would be overturned on appeal. He called the European Commission's decision "maddening" and "political".

a government, pardon the expression screws everyone, because someone is going to have for pay for that tax, either by wage cuts, health cuts, infrastructure loss, education cuts, environmental cuts, you name it, some one is going to pay and Apple and others don't want to pay.

And yes that is the 15.5 billion dollar "question' "if" they wanted too, not going to hold my collective breath

I just can't imagine that companies like Apple and others which hold a collective 3 trillion dollars in off shore account are going to pay, they are going to whine until the cows come home.

Now, if you go into Delaware and Wyoming, for example they are the new tax havens, that says it all. Set up a mail box drop in these two states for example just like the Cayman Islands and your set.
You set up the corporation in another country, you have your scam just like some of the major ones in this country, and then the ultimate slap in the face set up a mail drop here so that you don't have to pay the tax over there, in the country yo have your tax haven.
Its like one big bouncing red ball going from one country to other and playing one country against the other, and it never stops, but they are always scoring-------------amazing

If I are you were to do this we would be in jail, just like if you have a real estate licence like the drumpfsterr he gets to depreciation his towers, give himself a salary and pay no taxes off the building, try this with the IRS on your home and see how far it would go--------------for you and me, and our Congress lets him and others legally get away with it--------------amazing--------someone gotta pay that tax, and its not him, Apple, GE, Wells Fargo, Phizer, for example

If the IRS invoked a higher tax rate and made it retroactive, would you want to pay that back tax? I don't think so.
