Ohio law meant to make abortions safer made them more dangerous, study finds

When Ohio legislators passed a bill restricting how doctors could administer abortion pills 12 years ago, supporters said it would create a safer way to end a pregnancy.

The law, they said, would protect women from unscrupulous abortion providers who "passed these pills out like skittles."

But the law made abortions more dangerous in Ohio, according to a new study, which says the statute's requirements increased complications and follow-up visits for women who took the drug to end their pregnancies.

The study, published in the online journal PLOS Medicine looked at 1,156 Ohio abortions before the law went into effect and 1,627 afterward to determine if women had more complications or other negative outcomes.

It was meant to make them more burdensome - more expensive and more difficult to access.

For those of you keeping score at home, the Washington Post is in its 139th year of publication.

It's black and white and read all over.

.... gives them the right to inflict their religious views on others and to crawl up and
around a woman's "lady bits." These people have a strong influence on OH's republican
politicians. John Kasich is very much part of this movement.

These same people are also behind trying to get rid of public education in OH too.
Because after all if you really care about your child you will be having them go to
a "Christian School" or home schooling them.

I know some of these people and in person including John Kasich they can be very
nice but they are very extreme in their views.

that the "news" would actually spew this reichwing piece of propaganda is sickening. admit the truth--it was, and is, ALL about controlling women, denying them full autonomy.

They truly don't care about women or their babies health, they just want to force them to have babies regardless of if it kills either or both of them. Their manly control is all they care about.
