Trump surrogate and pastor: I ‘overstated’ my biography
Source: The Hill
A black pastor and vocal supporter of Donald Trump admitted he exaggerated his background Friday night as CNN teases a heated interview to air Saturday morning.
As a young man starting my church in Greenville, South Carolina, I overstated several details of my biography because I was worried I wouldnt be taken seriously as a new pastor, Pastor Mark Burns said in a statement late Friday. "This was wrong. I wasnt truthful then and I have to take full responsibility for my actions.
Since that time I should have taken steps to correct any misrepresentations of my background. We all make mistakes, and I hope that the measure of my character and the quality of my works speak for what kind of person I am.

CNN is set to air an interview with Burns Saturday morning on "New Day" detailing multiple inaccuracies in the pastors bio, including his service in the U.S. Army Reserves, his education and more.

(23,140 posts)As a child, I sometimes heard this coming from someone who was about to forgive me.
I have yet to hear it coming from someone delivering a sincere apology. This man is a sociopath.

(34,195 posts)Here's part of his real bio, I posted on Tuesday. http://www.democraticunderground.com/12512390425
I suspect he lied about his education:
"Burns was born in Anderson, South Carolina on September 21, 1979 to parents Pastor Otis and Evangelist Debra Burns.
In 1995, at the age of 16, Burns was licensed as a Minister of The Gospel (by his father Otis Burns) at The Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church in Pelzer, SC.
...he received a South Carolina GED from the SC Board of Education.
Burns later continued his education at the North Greenville University's School of Business."
(He got a GED for high school, and it doesn't indicate he graduated from North Greenville University's School of Business)

Folks need to wake up and smell the bullshit. All of these "Pastors" around Trump are full of it. No self-respecting Pastor in the African-American Community would get 250 Feet Close to this Racist Bigot Clown.
